About wardeckers in High Sec and solution

These assumptions are dumb. You make yourself look silly.

Why? The corp I belong to regularly get wardecked by High Sec “Mercenary” corps and not once it escalated to anything other than attempts to gank hauling ships. And not a single time war lasted longer than a week. Not once aggressors bothered to come to our system and It’s not like we hide our location.

Then continue on like normal
or has the paranoia gotten to you?

What do you expect them to do when people carelessly offer themselves?
What do you expect them to do when targets aren’t being protected?

Tell me!

Well they shouldn’t shoot at harmless ships

Especially if they carry obscene amounts of iskies

Shoot it. Won’t deny this. But from your and couple other posts one could assume that wardeckers have some other much grander goal than just “legally gank”. Yet it seems iti not a case is it? You know wardeckers remind me of bullies in elementary or middle school. Scare the weaker into submission, pick on isolated target but scatter when victim bring back friends. Nothing wrong with it really, but hardly admirable and worth defending.

People sign up for this. it’s the game. if they can’t avoid, or protect, they lose. People on both sides join the game for what it offers and both sides take the short straw.

Strange how wars almost always result in no meaningful content
Here we see a group that died while trying to bait us just earlier:

Strange how we somehow ended up outside of a station with a hostile fleet looking for a fight! SO STRANGE!

As a member of Electus Matari, an anti-pirate and Minmatar loyalist alliance, I think this isn’t a very good idea. On occasion, there are good guys that like to fight the actual pirates and to make it to where they incur a penalty actually resulting in piratical sec status seems counter-productive and useless.

While the idea of your wardeccer not being able to simply dock up or hide in station is nice, it would only promote more use of cloakies I think. If it’s one thing I’ve learned about caspuleers is that they are good at adapting to new ways to survive.

Adapt or die
(or come to the forums and cry for CCP to nerf the game in your favor!)

Watchlist was just down-right creepy and invasive.

Im not sorry to see it go, even if what led to that is a bit of a hedged interest.

I wouldnt mind Locator agents being improved.

Lorewise the watchlist was exactly like Varys’s little birds in GoT

It’s simply a network of spies lol

Dunno about you, but I didnt like people getting an automatic update when I was online.

None of their goddam business.

I dont mind them paying for that data of where I am via Locators though, even if Im offline.

If I get suspicious I can clone jump or play on an alt.

I didn’t mind, what were they going to do anyway?

Try to hunt me?
Try to gank me?
Try to figure me out?

Nah
I never felt threatened because someone somewhere that I didn’t care about knew that I was logged in lol

The locator agent neednt state whether the player is online or not, just location of the toon.

Per its name, it locates them. Thats all.
Whether they are online is up to you to find out.

Have fun doing that with any corp/alliance that has more than 100 dudes lol

Lorewise we are not RL players playing EvE online avatars and having many accounts with 3 alts each

So Lore cannot help with online/offline status.

You might not mind to give others your full API then and list of your accounts?

Quoting yourself: what were you going to do anyway?

Nope. Some things should not be automatically provided to others without effort and price. Current watchlist has some meaning.

I used to bypass this by keeping my characters logged in all day. That way my targets are conditioned to me always being online.

send me 500m and it’s all yours heh

Yes, I know and understand that.

But I don’t think its anyone’s business when I am online.
if someone wants to know that, come find out, rather than some magical automatic update.
