Abyssal Scams - Putting the scammers in check / Establishing A Baseline Percentage Value For Mutated Modules

This example is actually so baffling I have to comment on it.

You took a storyline warp disruptor, made it significantly worse, and you expect its value to be more than a faction module. Astonishing.

Another great post from Dryson.

That is not a scam. Having an opinion is not being a scammer. People will sell and buy items based on what they feel is appropriate. If they believe it is not appropriately priced, they will not buy it, and will voice their concern when they see it.

Hahahaha, good luck enforcing this.

No, the problem isnt the bonus. If mutaplasmids were only adding bonuses, then sure. But Mutaplasmids produce negative effects too.

If you had a Heavy Energy Neutralizer, that had 20% reduced range, 10% reduced neutralizer amount, 20% increase in CPU, and used 40% more capacitor, but had a 0.05% reduction in powergrid use, would you consider this as something that should be marked up above its counterpart? If you saw a module that had all its negative bonuses maxed, but had a single positive bonus that was barely above the green mark, would you consider this as superior, and pay more?

My theory is that you had a lot of bad luck and are sitting on top of a bunch of modules you cant get rid of. People are voicing their opinion to you that your deadspace module that has a 0.01% increase in one thing but maxed out negative effects on all other aspects, is complete crap, while you try to sell them a bricked sandwhich at 50% markup.

Its clear who the scammer is, in such a situation.

Spoiler alert: Its you.

How is the storyline module worse when it fits into an activation range slightly more than the Shadow Serpentis, with a slightly less Optimal Range and vastly greater CPU usage?

The module that I mutated costs far less than the Shadow Serpentis version meaning that it would out perform the Shadow Serpentis version in cost and CPU usage.

Like I stated before, every single Abyssal Module is a Unique module that fits into a niche with the other modules.

Just because the attributes aren’t what you want from the module doesn’t mean its junk as hardly any module will have all bonuses applied.

From the way it sounds most of you have a math deficiency and cannot be bothered with cross indexing mutated modules to find their unique value.

That’s your problem.

No olive branch. I do not involve myself at all with any High Sec gankers or their pets. Period.

Like i said before, no one is going to pay for a module that has every other attribute completely negatively effected except for a single attribute that has a mere 0.05% decrease in CPU or GPU or something.

Guess what happens when you try to sell something that is too niche? You end up not selling it, and have to mark it down.

See: Eve Online.

Free to play Alpha clones is a great example, of EVE being a Niche game that CCP had to offer more and more to keep getting new players hooked in.

No, its the problem of a scammer who wants to unload his bricked sandwhich to a person with a substantial markup.

I.E. You.

Are you talking about me?

I am not a hisec ganker, or a pet of a HIsec ganker.

Your mutated module sports a 0.1km(!) increased point range, and a 0.4 reduced CPU cost compared to the original storyline mod. These advantages are literally irrelevant; there’s no real benefit from such a small increase in range, and the 0.4 reduced CPU cost is going to provide extra fitting room for basically nothing. Now, the 60% increase in activation cost on the other hand is incredibly significant - this module’s only real relevance would be on a frigate fit which would be better with off with the less cap hungry module 10 times out of 10.

Fitting cost is the first and foremost the most important aspect of any module. A reduced CPU cost allows for the possible use of TII Rigs that would otherwise not be able to be used.

Ships that the mutated module would work very well with are:

Barghest
Orthrus
Interceptors
Keres
Garmur
Marshall
Special Edition Frigates

Wanna see how well the module works Rin Shinwa?

No one who actually knows what they’re doing is going to spend 100m on a 24km point on any point-range bonused ships. Keres and Garmur in particular suffer greatly from cap hungry modules, and pilots often go to great lengths in order to mitigate that by using A-type MWD’s, and other means that don’t require spending a mod or rig slot on cap regen (since that would be inefficient). On you’ve got to be taking the piss if you say that the 0.4 CPU you gain from the abyssal module over the storyline module is in anyway a significant reduction in CPU.

And you mention T2 rigs: T1 and T2 rigs have the same fitting drawbacks across the board. The only difference in terms of fittings is the calibration cost.

Hehehe… sometimes it is, just look at certain leaders hahaha.

Edit: Love how you turned that around on OP btw :joy:

Dont bother, man. Its in Dryson Benningtons Inventory, and therefore it must be a great item that sells for a lot of isk. No matter how bricked and a peice of crap module it is, people must be forced to buy it at a markup, because otherwise its a scam.

#benningtonlogic

The only people that got scammed here were those that took the time to read this thinking they could learn anything of value…

Has anyone put together ship and Abyssal Module Packages yet that would use the bonuses of the ship + the Abyssal Module along with Rigs to create a new market for ships?

You don’t decide what something is worth, the market does. There are too many variables at play, more than just the bonuses of a module- the pvp meta for example.

Its not a scam to list something at a hilariously inflated price, it just simply wont sell unless a person decides that is what the module is worth to them.

Sorry if I’m repeating someone, I tried scrolling up but there was too much rubbish to wade through.

Another factor that you have to account for in determining the value of the Abyssal Module is skills.

Right now I have an Interruptive Abyssal Warp Disruptor with the following base attributes before being fit to a Navy Imperial Slicer

The second image is of the same module fit to the Navy Imperial Slicer

The third image is a side by side comparison

Based on my skills being top of the line Alpha Clone Skills regarding all aspects of fitting a Warp Disruptor the mutated Faction module resides somewhere between the Caldari Warp Disruptor and the Dark Blood Warp Disruptor based on having a better activation cost compared to the mutated activation cost as well as fitting cost and not to mention a reduced heat damage cost.

This mutated module would therefore reside in the price range between 75 and 80 million on the market.

Why not ten billion isk. If were putting imaginary prices, go high or go home.

Not many that I know of but Cecilia’s Abyssal Emporium in-game channel is large enough an Abyssal shop that could pull that off already.

I second this motion.

Abyssal tech and abyssal module market is a far more intricate thing than most people realize.
