Add-in Errors

My Eve add-in isn’t working correctly right now. It did work when it was first introduced, but I can’t use it now.

Browser: Chrome 117.0.5938.92 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Using Microsoft Excel Online

What I expect: Being able to open the add-in side pane and log in my character in Excel
What happens: Side pane opens but is a gray box with only “EVE Online” and a close button

What I’ve tried so far: Updating Chrome, disabling uBlock Origin (seemed the most obvious option), using the Ctrl+F5 shortcut, logging my character into EVE then repeating Ctrl+F5, removing and reinstalling add-in.

Error messages: These are entirely over my head, so I don’t know what they actually mean or if I can fix them. I got a lot of error messages as the side pane tried to load. These are only a few of them, the list was pretty long.

Thanks for the console messages, that’s extremely helpful.

You can try checking your browsers cookie settings. Seems like the excel web has to be able to read cookies from 3rd party sites, since the add-in is hosted somewhere else and loaded into the sidebar.

I’ll look into reproducing this soon and checking if we add better error handling if something goes wrong with the localstorage connection and display potential remedies if it’s this cookie setting.
Something similar happens on Brave with shields up, but just dropping shields seemed to work.
