@Hundasuupa I suppose you are the most qualified to answer this question:
why does the Add-in for Excel have Internet Explorer as a prerequisite to function?
This doesn’t make sense since IE isn’t supported by MS and hasn’t been for quite a while. I know that Windows and Edge browser has it for compatibility reasons. I wonder if it’s the same for Excel
Whatever the reason is for requiring it, would it not have been better to just use a Chromium based browsers functionality - like Google Chrome, MS Edge, or any of the many others.
It’s probably some fallback requirement of WebView2 which renders the sidebar, which usually just uses a sandboxed Edge browser.
I’ve always had IE installed thanks to legacy sites I’ve had to work on so I honestly didn’t notice it being a prereq.
I think I developed a bit on a laptop w/o IE, but I don’t have access to it as I just migrated to a Mac now. But the Eve Excel development is still being done a windows machine for what its worth.

The reason I ask is that I have tried to Debloat my Win install and removing the IE feature caused the EVE Online add-in to stop functioning. Knowing this I attempted to reinstall the IE features in hopes that it would fix the issue, however I weren’t able to find a way to do so thus I had to perform a System Restore to a point before removing IE feature. My add-in is still not fixed yet - probably an issue with the WebView2 which wasn’t restored in the process and I don’t know how to fix that.
Had to download the WebView2 Runtime Installer to install it again and now it works.
