Addition fo rhte career agents for newbros

Been told to post this idea here by GM in a F12 ticket, so here it is…

The career agents are a reasonable introduction to much of the pve content in eve - however, they do not have a mission set for escaping or avoiding capture.

I suggest an additional career agent concerned with teaching the newbros how to use D-scan - how to make perches - how to use the cloak/MWD trick to escape a gatecamp - how to run back to the gate to escape a gatecamp - and putting them all together to deliver something from A to B (use perches to avoid a gatecamp, and use the MWD/cloak trick the other side, to get to a safe where you are being hunted and have to D-scan to escape to another safe before you can deliver your item).
IMHO, learning to escape, evade and use intel tools is as important, if not moreso that shotting things.

Would help with the time before a new player loses their first ship outside of the career agents too. and give them a sense that they are actually learning how to play

i feel like all that is just better off for a corporation to do.

Or a University.

We do have one.

While I agree that these are useful things to learn, I don’t think that things like ‘MWD cloak trick’ belong in a tutorial.

It’s far too advanced, niche, requires skills newbies won’t have and is not a basic design of the game, but a trick people have learned to be useful.

It’s far too early for new players to get to know that, it’s like teaching the meta before teaching the basics of the game.

Likewise ‘perches’ goes too far for a first tutorial, although it could be nice if the concept of bookmarks in space would be explained. But I think even bookmarks go too far for a tutorial when people are still barely aware of where they are in space. I sure wasn’t. The first missions tell you exactly where to warp so it’s not an essential tool at the start either.

Using a directional scanner is something I would expect from the tutorial though, it’s a basic mechanic in EVE of every ship and accessible from the start.
