Cannot predict now
Having/Creating/Dealing With, AI is just like having kids. Only the source is different.
You have no idea what is really going to happen, ever… why is there pancake batter on the chair?
You hope they turn out more ok than you are… therapy is not cheap.
You do your best to teach them right and wrong, and math, and cooking, and why blue is called blue… sometimes figuring this out at the same time.
You really just hope you can help them be better than you were/are.
In the end, your child could grow up to rule the world with an iron fist… or be in your basement eating Cheetos while watching the Iron Fist. (I understand both are actually possible)
At the end of the day, it isn’t the AI we should be worrying about, but the people “teaching” it.

Having kids is a lot easier I think. At least they are human and you can watch other children or take advice from someone else who had them. With AI, and AGI at that, its not really having kids, you first have to make them. Pioneering builds, its like having sex for the first time. It doesnt have to go well at all.
This is what happends if you let bots talk to each other what they learned from human interaction. (this is over 6 years old)

The other 20% are cheaters. 80/20 rule.
Furthermore, whoever came up with “modern economics” that does not predict this is a cheater. Just as the cheating 20% in the experiment cannot predict that 80% of the participants will behave “irrationally” to punish them, neither can the cheaters who call themselves “modern economists” predict that 80% of us know they’re lying cheaters.
Even now, they’re probably trying to go all in and create an AI that can outsmart other humans to take their money. They’re too dumb to predict that, not only is a true AI going to be smarter than them so that they will not be able to control it, but it will also be more good than them, because being good is just a smarter, more “rational” strategy.

A politician, an actor, a general, a news anchor . . . a fleet commander . . . all just advanced chat bots. I wonder if we’d be able to detect such an advanced chat bot if it was participating in this thread. I’d bet some of us are absolutely certain we could. I am unsure, and maybe one or more of the participants of this thread is absolutely certain that we couldn’t.
I would be surprised if certain military entities did not already have far more advanced “chat bots” and I’d bet those chat bots are a lot of fun at parties. Probably kick our ass in a dogfight, too.
