Not sure at this point, but it seems I am a victim of shoddy programming from the Wine distro and not Eve Online. If anyone is using Wine version 9.22-1 or having issues with Alt+Tab, then you will need to switch from Full Screen to Fixed Window, in the Eve Client Settings. That is the workaround I used.
What Happens
Since my Wine upgraded from 9.22 to 9.22-1 , some apps refuse to refresh the X window when Alt+Tab is used. It hasn’t locked up or frozen, just refuses to show the appropriate graphical screen display.
Solution
Fall back to using the former version or use the workaround to wait for the next Wine patch. This is not something to disturb CCP tech support about. I wouldn’t bother them with tickets, as Wine is not their software to repair. I currently use the standard Wine offered by the Manjaro distribution.
If you use Lutris or Steam Photon, these too can be affected as they use Wine builds. To check your build version, open terminal and type; wine --version at the $ prompt. Mine still says 9.22 but I know for a fact it is 9.22-1 with a build date of December 10th 2024. I could have spotted it sooner, but with the holidays, I just forgot to update until now.
