I have not responded for a couple of days as I kinda wanted to see where folks were going with some of their points.
Few different impressions.
First and foremost is omg you enjoy an aspect of the game I don’t so there for you are either a botter or bad for the game.
Just because somebody enjoys sitting on a belt for hours a day mining doesn’t mean that they are bad for the game. They are still in space and viable target to get shot at that point. Does not mean they are botting. I personally hate mining and don’t do it outside of a group where I have people to talk to, joke with ect. It for me is a necessary evil to build and fly the ships I want to fly. I am not going to look down on those who actually enjoy it though and when I see tons of miners leave the game that has a net negative effect on the game as a whole. That is the core of the OP’s letter. The lost players from those changes being made have not had the intended effect on the game and rather has been a negative impact.
The other main thing I see brought up and I think it’s a very valid point is the Risk vs Reward issue.
If I am undocking (what is now a 50b + after the industry changes) ship to go out and rat in the ship, what I should be getting from doing that needs to be high enough to justify risking that large of an asset. Currently its not. Personally, no I don’t think we should be able to make enough to replace it right away but the way the rewards are now I am not going to make enough ratting to replace the ship if I lose it in a timely fashion. Null Sec and Low Sec are the only places we can fly and use these large of assets, the rewards in either region for Ratting or Mission running really do not justify the use of these ships anymore. This is a negative impact on the game. It gives less targets for PvPers to try and get the drop on.
Hi Sec, yes i can make 100mill or more an hour doing L4 missions. I can do L4 missions in a T1 BS for about 500 mill. So yay 5 hours to replace the cost of my ship if I lose it. We bump that up to a Marauder, while more expensive odds are my ISK per hour is going to increase still going to take me about 10 to 13 hours at the most to replace and refit. L5 missions, while there are some Marauder and BS ones they are for the most part Carrier or higher missions required to complete. Rewards do not match with what you are having to risk. Abyssal runs same thing, low cost, high gain. Risk is negligible, follow some commonsense steps and odds are you will not get ganked by another player and odds are you will more than make the ISK you spent to buy and fit your ship. Incursions, also low risk, bit of a higher cost, but high gain.
Third main argument I see is. Null shouldn’t be entirely self-sufficient.
I actually agree with that one. I do think that the resources being divided up between Hi, Low, and Null is a good thing. It creates trade, with trade comes conflict. Doing that alone required more effort to build capital ships ect but it was still worth doing and using those ships in a fight. Toss in the industry changes and now it was no longer worth building and using them in a fight. Cost to Gain ration was better using sub cap fleets to achieve the same objectives. Still is. While I don’t necessarily disagree with the industry changes, I do think they added to much cost to the ship. Better solution in my opinion would have been to add empire specific ores to all regions of space. Amarr ships and capitals should require specific ore only found in Amarr space or regions ect. Would make it easier for alliances or corps in those regions to build that capital ship but would have made it more expensive to build other ones. It also may have the benefit of shaking up some of the meta’s a bit and causing some different fleet comps other than just form Munin’s for everything.
In closing seriously folks it is showing more and more that the issues with Eve need to be resolved but us degrading each other is not going to move us in that direction. Stop invalidating other people’s play styles. Just because it’s not your playstyle doesn’t mean it’s bad or wrong.

I’ve shared my thoughts on the forums already, I am not a fan of EVE’s direction and haven’t been for some time. After topping two killboards (Battleclinic and Z-Kill) I left EVE online a bit over a year ago. Nothing about the game at the moment gives me any desire to play again.
Your changes are BS CCP, toxic to game play, tedious and painful, not worth undocking and playing in.
Thinking of where EVE was just 3 years ago and where it is now. Where is the content? Where is the reasons to play? Where are the roaming gangs, the ratters, the whales? Mining flotillas, explorers, hot drops?
It should be very clear that CCP has ruined the once great game with ill thought out and toxic changes, and then doubling down on them again and again instead of listening to the players. Think of the player base you had CCP… players would revolve their lives around logging in, play for hours every single day, step through fire to get to the keyboard. But you screwed all this up. And you CCP did this… The players faith in you is GONE, you burned it, and look what it cost you? EVE is a shadow of what it was, the bare bones of a once great game slowly mouldering away as you squeeze every last penny from the playerbase that remains.
Dark Shines ideas are good and solid. You should listen if you want players like me to come back.
Remove the unpopular toxic changes. That F industry ‘update’ is horsesh#t. Diamond rats, random trig spawns, scarcity, nerfs, the WCS changes, structure ‘updates’ and more.
Give us back the game we love because without us the game doesnt work. And this is the bottom line isnt it? The bottom line is money and you aint making any. Roll back your changes CCP, roll them back immediately, do it before the lights go out for the last time.
