I don’t know exactly when I first played EVE, the email account I used back then is long lost to time, as is my first character’s name, but it was sometime 2006-2007, most likely 2007.
There’s a lot I miss about the old EVE. Is there anything you feel nostalgic for?

I’m honestly surprised I’m still here after 16.5 years. I’m not a gamer at all. This is the only video game I have ever played. A friend of mine tried to get me into WoW – didn’t happen. My uncle is obsessed with video games (for a guy 30+ years older than me, it’s kind of funny) and he tried to get me to play Tomb Raider among various other stuff – I got bored real quick. Like in less than an hour (I don’t know how you guys stand to sit in front of a monitor for hours on end and play those other games, it’s baffling to me).
EVE is definitely unique and you do have to have a certain personality for it, I believe. My WoW friend tried EVE, and could not wrap his head around it. So, your average gamer is not the person who will stick around in here long-term.
I wouldn’t call it a strange journey. It has this ‘‘parallel world’’ kind of vibe to it. Like a parallel universe you tap into from time to time. You don’t have to log on regularly in order to be able to ‘‘advance’’ or ‘‘achieve’’ stuff in the game. You can play it at your own specific pace and even be gone for 10 years, and it’ll still be here.

18 years this past march with EvE Online. Ive had a lot of great and ugly times here.

Ive done the whole WoW, Swtor thing. Even played lineage II back in the day…the only pvp game close to this…go outside the boundries and your red. Looter shooters are my thing now…been into Division2 for about 1000 hours now.
I even simmed race way back in the early 90’s. Played through all of the nascar games in leagues. Talk about a game that will bring the devil out of you. Anybody here ever drive Grand Prix Legends? All respects if you did.
Anybody ever do any planteside? Oh man you talk about battles…my first introduction to a game that had so many people fighting on my screen at one time…ill never forget it.
Ive tried a lot of game in between…to many to even remember. Survival games have been my latest thing. I was there at the Dune Awakening launch and as of now my latest survival is Windrose.
Great times.

Have you heard of a game called Once Human? it’s an eldrich horror apocalypse shooter survival game. During my recent 2 year winning streak with eve, i was playing Once Human. It’s good for about 100-150 hours unless you really like it. It took me 2 years to get bored and come back to eve.

I know it’s not easy to stick with the same email and many Capsuleers had lost their original pilot/s

Ive heard a lot about it…i tried it for a short while way back but i think the turn off for me was that it would be reset…im not into the reset thing. I understand why it happens…but its a personal slap in my face. i havent played it since.
I’m a new player!
Still finding my way and practicing in Highsec!

They changed it so you dont have to keep resetting. All servers become permanent.

Sadly he was sold. I check on hime occasionally. He hasn’t moved in years.

The thing that sticks in my memory was having to buy and carry bookmarks to get through 0.0. Couldn’t get there without them.
