The AU tz was already really bad for pvp content before the changes but now it’s much worse. There is almost zero roaming friendly fleets so you rely on watching intel for enemies to fight. Most of the enemies are explorers which are not the best content but beggars can’t be choosers. So you see a ship in intel and what used to be 5 or 6 jumps out is now more like 10 or 11. Even if you can be bothered jumping all those jumps by the time you get there they’ve usually gone and you have all those jumps to get back home. It’s starting to feel like you’re playing a dead game. I’m getting seriously bored and I’m getting to the stage where I can’t be bothered to login. Something needs to be done, maybe give battlecruiser’s and below better access to the Ansi’s or lift some of the restriction around that time zone? I don’t know the solution but at this rate I won’t be playing for much longer.
Use Filament cheats for content?
Make your alliance have a content deployment somewhere with more activity. I cannot imagine how a 10k chars alliance like BRAVE would be starved for content.
Why do you care for a ship that is so far out? Can it be that your group holds either too much empty space or has too many blues around you, so your own space has become incredibly boring?
I’d suggest to move to the very border of what your group calls “their space” and seek daily content directly there. Only move to the central staging if the group pings for a larger OP.
A quick glance shows you don’t know how pvp actually works.
Yeah that cements it. This is a you problem, not a game problem.
Get better at choosing and fitting ships, don’t rely on staying in the warm cosy safety area your group “controls”.
Rely less on being a cog in a 10k man alliance.
Honestly sounds like its not the Ansi changes but the space you live in. If you’re in such a safe place that the only content you have is an explorer you go running for 10 11 jumps away you’re in too deep a safe space.
As someone else says, move to the border, use filaments to go looking for hostile space, go roaming into LS, punch through womholes to other space.
Why don’t you fly or just jumpclone elsewhere if you don’t find enough to do in your space?
Who forces you to stay in your alliance space?
And why do you have to stay in that alliance (and space) anyway if there is no content to be had during your timezone? The EVE universe is so huge that you shouldn’t have a problem finding an environment that suits you better.
I mean you are already writing about stopping to play. Get into a new alliance ffs. Or do your own stuff. Maybe also hunt the guys of your old alliance. You write that you are already hunting on your own anyway, so you can also decide on your own terms to make sure you have plenty of targets available.
Just think outside your self inflicted confinement.
Are any of you lot living and pvping in the au tz? I can filament wherever i want, yes but that means I have a long wait before filamenting back or a lot of jumps and yes I could go somewhere fairly near by but there’s only going to be so many targets in that area and you’re back to square 1. The fact is there’s not a lot of action in the AU tz so the ansi’s gave more reach/targets in a shorter time. IMHO the game is dying in the AU tz and if they want to keep players interested and playing restricting what pvp is available isn’t going to fix it. It’s not just a “me problem” it’s a game problem. I love the game, I’ve been playing for 22 years and I want to continue playing and that won’t include being forced to play how I don’t want to play.
That is bad luck for you, because the power projection Ansis offer basically opress roaming gangs in all other timezones. The blob just does the same thing you do: Once a gang is spotted 10+ jumps out, a whole mass of “defenders” just use 1 or 2 ansis and they are there. Fighting something locally has become almost impossible, because how easy it is to just shortcut geography.
Seriously: We need to go back to the status that “20 jumps out” means 20 jumps out. Yes, that means if you want to interfere in some brawl 20 jumps out all your ships need to take 20 gates, align 20 times, warp 20 times and probably spend 30 minutes or so before they are there (depending on ship class). Hint: this should deter you from sticking your nose into local conflicts that are not yours.
If you want PvP, you need to switch roles. Instead of being the one idling at home, waiting for someone coming to your space that you can then intercept using all kind of shortcut mechanics, you need to plan an operation and go where the opponents are. That means leaving your space.
No, I don’t live in the AU TZ, but somewhere will be people. There are AU TZ alliances, not? Form a small gang and invade their space instead. I am pretty sure they will try to fight you, not?
You obviously don’t realize, but you being unable to sit cozy staging, and waiting for intel pings to go dunk on asteros or whoever approaches your donut in couple minutes is exactly what had to be removed.
Go live in the border zone of your sov, or roam out for couple days… Heck, just use your fancy alliance jf service to haul to an active lowsec zone and have fun.
Yeah, maybe we have to say it very directly:
The whole established system of groups idling with huge ‘standing fleets’ in a central ‘staging system’ and then covering a huge area of ‘protected space’ via some sort of teleport travel needs to be broken down.
Content is just far away, not the Ansi’s fault.
Historically Brave has always seen a lot more existential pressure and thus PvP content.
History goes much further, but let’s start at 2020 where Brave lives near the front of WWB2 in Querious. The entire null sec game happens right nextdoor in Delve, lot’s of content. PAPI implodes and Brave evacuates via Geminate and moves to Pure Blind, steps out of all coalitions to fight locals for space.
Brave then is pressured by both winterco and panfam to form B2 with locals and once that collapses under pressure after time even joins Imperium in order to survive. And back again as part of Imperium in Delve there yet again was a lot of content nearby from local roams by Panfam from NPC delve, until Imperium relocated to be closer to Panfam and the PvP content went that direction as Brave moved along to Tenerifis halfway '25.
Panfam collapsed end of '25 and suddenly Brave finds itself within and surrounded by allies of the largest coalition in the game with no PvP front anywhere nearby for the first time in a decade.
A great period for ratting and PvE. Possibly the quietest era in Brave. You join at that point.
The current situation is not so much an ansiblex problem as it is a result of Brave’s current position within the game, far away from content and in a rare position to do PvE instead of fighting for survival.
