Over the last few days a number of larger data centers have gone offline, and people in various online communities have been mentioning a pretty clear drop in spam bots and automated accounts in general.
Has anyone observed something similar in EVE? Fewer bots in local, less spam in public channels, quieter trade hubs from the usual RMT/bot traffic, or anything else that feels a bit cleaner than usual?
Just curious what others have noticed in-game.

How do you know they are bots? We can assume the player who repeats messages at regular cycles has some automation happening, but that is really up to Fenris to look at the player report logs. All we can do is report suspects, and it is really up to Fenris to identify them.
If you have noticed an population decrease, there was a report made recently. They busted a vast majority of botters, who were using automation to auto generate lots of characters. The upshot of this report means, they got busted before coming out the gate. No way any us players could even file a report about that kind of botting.
I could speculate on another change made back in May. The new region Exordium also may be key to fewer bots. The method of entering the game has changed to a new system and not the same 4 AIR Labs as before. Leaving Exo might prove to be more difficult for bots programmed to arrive in Jita. Simply put, maybe the bots are getting lost?

if you do it right, you can be better than if you botted if you are talking about hypernet spam, you just have to have your overlay in the correct way so that the drag and drop hypernet link is right next the message window, then you just need a mouse and an itchy enter finger.
I don’t know which game you play…but eve online has MORE bots than ever…they just use ki and therefore hide better…fc is always 3 steps behind them…
We hit Yandex, that’s why the bots are gone.

when you think about it, multiboxers are some of the next worse thing, like GANKERS, are mostly multiboxers, so now gankers need to go away LOL
so why dont you just play with your miner alts again.

I have often suggested the opposite, since Fenris allows omegas to multi-box, they could sell botting to them as well. It really wouldn’t bother me at all. In fact, they could make tons of green by selling the botting scripts in the store for $5 each per month. They would have multiple PVP, PVE, and mining then all the omegas can go outside and touch grass. While alpha’s like me can actually press buttons, click a mouse, and play the game.
