The information was not willingly shared. The Guri Malakim stole the info from the Jove, Deathless Circle found the actual gates and invited the Guri Malakim in, and we stole the info from Guristas and Angel wrecks. The only willing transfer of info was from those capsuleers that found the gates to SoCT in exchange for ISK.
Stole the info from the Jove? How? I thought they were supposed to be a dead entity, are you saying looting derelict structures is theft now? Because if so, lots of people out there committing theft right now.
Tomb or grave robbing’s traditionally theft (and arguably worse than robbing the living, depending on who you ask). Also just because a society’s gone to bits doesn’t mean everyone’s gone; there may still be a whole lot of local Jove about, perhaps struggling to survive, perhaps not.
I mean, it was inevitable that people were going to go for it anyway; who’s got time for moral squeamishness when there’s power, money, and, more to the point, organizational and/or national interests at stake?
But yes, stealing from the dead is indeed traditionally supposed to be bad. Not to be confused with “salvage” which is fine for … reasons.

It’s likely that the activities of the Guri Malakim during this year’s Capsuleer Day celebrations served to reawaken some functions of the Jove Observatories scattered throughout New Eden, namely whatever is responsible for the dispensation of the symbolic navigators.
And the Jove Directorate, as a political entity, is indeed entirely defunct, with their inheritance having been left to the SoCT. We know nothing of what any remaining third empire Jove may be up to these days, as they’ve been silent for many years.

Indeed. I often receive gifts and letters from those who follow and admire my spotless combat record, but one day I opened a beautifully wrapped gift box ( with traditional Kääri wrapping paper! ) only to find a miniature unstable singularity within. Needless to say it ruined my mood for the rest of the day.

The Jovian gates are only in A0 Blue Small star solar systems to begin with, so it’s no surprise Zarzakh is as well.
Look, there is only one proper Amarrian response to all this — send in a giant Reclaiming fleet to conquer and enslave everything on the the other side, which according to Book of Reclaiming 22:13 already belongs to the Empire anyway. That anti-Empress Catiz is not doing this is further proof that the Throne is Vacant.
