[ARC] Implications of Jovian Gate Discoveries

Is it? CONCORD gets trillions of ISK every month from capsuleers, through SCC fees, sov bills, and much, much more. They should actually do something for that money, instead of just hiding out and making heavy-handed declarations. Especially where this supposedly dire threat is concerned… time for them to get off their asses, or give us back the money we paid for them.

I’ve been through Zarzakh twice. Once when the Jovian gates mysteriously activated, and again to transit quickly.

In the first visit I had to quickly adjust my expectations. My directional scanner did not work. Solar system map offline. Ship’s navigational computer to register bookmarks offline. The gravity well wreaks havoc on one’s ship. The warp tunnel barely holds together passing through the local system effects.

There are very few points of interest at the moment. They require to be shielded from the local gravity and radiation effects. If you stray outside this shield then indeed your ship begins to deteriorate very rapidly. If I remember correctly, the points of interest are:

  • The 4 Jovian gates
  • The Fulcrum – which cannot be docked at unless you have extremely favorable standing with the Deathless
  • The Sun Station – there appears to be a shipcaster under construction here

It has dangers both natural and capsuleer in origin.

Be cautious should you explore, 12 hours ago there were gate camps everywhere outside Zarzakh trying to catch people visiting. I got caught in a Sedition one. Had to go the long way around, because I was determined to use Zarzakh to transit New Eden successfully on opening day. And I did.

I can’t speak on the exact origins of them, nor how they got borg’ed up to the gills with Azdaja technology. But I do believe I’ve developed a loose profile that may prove useful. In the interest of international cooperation and shared intelligence, I’m happy to share it.

• Original profile provided by the Scope states that they would have been a 30 year old male in YC118. Further descriptions were otherwise unassuming, leading me to believe that they underwent their extensive augmentation sometime within the last five years. However, they also seem to prefer working by proxy so it is possible the person profiled was an envoy acting on behalf of the Deathless or were utilizing a custom sculpted vanity clone at the time and not their “true” form.

• The Deathless first rose to prominence in YC118 after a heist where they stole FIO intelligence data on experimental serpentis shipyards. This may suggest a history working for or in proximity of the FIO or SDII before “striking out on their own.”

• Information gathered from this heist was used to issue contracts to various PMCs left without contracts following the end of hostilities on CHANDEILLE. These organizations include Intara Direct Action, the Ostrakon Agency, Kang Lao Directorate, Namtar Elite and the Seykal Expeditionary Group. The Deathless may have had a personal history with one of these factions.

• Of these contracts, Ostrakon and Intara Direct action gained the most by selling technology plundered from Serpentis shipyards to Upwell Consortium. This may imply the Deathless is more likely to have had history with either of these PMCs, and may have been in communication with Upwell directly or by proxy through one of Upwell’s members like Efiyr and Co.

• The Deathless vanished from the public December that same year, last spotted in the Kurala constellation.

• We now know that the Deathless continued to coordinate technology stealing and smuggling operations between the afformentioned PMCs. They would later expand their circle to include the Krullefor organization through their connection to the Seykal clan, and Onikanabo Brigade during the Intaki Crisis.

• Smuggling operations were at odds with the Angels Cartel and Guristas pirates, resulting in wars for control of areas like Molden Heath. I will neglect to comment on the potential complacency of the RSS and PKN in their operations.

• The Deathless DID NOT have connections with Guristas Pirates or the Angels Cartel until 6.20.124 at the earliest, when Leopold en Villari acted as a triple-agent for the Deathless during the Jita 4-4 heist. Leopold en Villari was able to evade capture by the Guristas with the aid of the Seykal clan.

•Intermitten conflict for influence would continue between the Deathless smuggling network and outside pirate groups until 11.1.124 on Turner where Deathless Circle PMCs and the Angels Cartel created the a short lived truce to aid in evacuations. It is unknown if they knew about the Turner-Zarzakh gate before this incident, or if the explosion of the Stellar Transmuter somehow made them aware of it after.

•After a brief period of renewed conflict in Pegeler and Molden Heath over smuggling routes, the Deathless Circle brokered diplomatic negotiations with the Angels and Guristas onboard a Hrada-Oki Caravan Flagship with the aid of the Seykal on 3.8.125

• Shortly after, formal agreements are reached on dividing spheres of influence across New Eden. The Angels Cartel and Krullefor sign a peace treaty on Ennur ending years of gang warfare.

• Esri Hakuzosu and Rafik Zohar form Guri Malakim with the direct aid of the Deathless, giving the Deathless influence over both the former Empire-affiliated PMCs and Pirate organizations.

This is someone that came from the Empires, not the Angels or Guristas. They expanded operations from a single job against the FIO and gained an incredible amount of influence within the last five years including access to dangerous Jovian technology. I have some suspicions on what their origin might have been prior to then and targets that would have more information but that extends beyond what I am willing to share with outside parties at this time.
