If that is indeed part of a visible wormhole nearby, there is one distinct possibility. Allow me to add another couple possible assumptions regarding visible contents:
The silhouettes in the lower-left corner, visible for roughly the first second of the recording, closely resemble the underlying spokes of a Drifter hive ring. They may be visually inverted, meaning the spokes are facing towards the central object, not away.
There is visual arcing on the large central object, along with what appear to be lines or currents forming on its surface or its interior. This could be evidence of strong magnetic constriction on a plasma mass, like a star.
This could be evidence of a possible Drifter-constructed stellar engine. Its use and implications, however, are currently lost upon me.
The object almost seems to flow inward, but I might just be noticing things that arenât there as Iâve been staring at it on and off for twelve hours.
Itâs most obvious when the two waves collide. The band of light around it gets thinner and it seems to flow into its self and to the right, almost like a curved tunnel.
Iâve still found no meaning behind the ID string itself⌠leaving me with Occamâs razor to just separate the alpha characters from the numericsâŚ
It is probably CONCORDâs code-name for whatever that thing is.
They love their weird acronyms and code words.
It might not mean anything in itself.
You know, they probably have some kind of name generator for their operations.
Highest level is one word, chosen from one list, then sub-operations of that will have two-word names, often in the format of adjective noun, and so on.
Operation Flaming Mango, the tactical plan for achieving some subset of Operation Cakewalk 's strategic objectives.
I know itâs been a bit butbi have to throw my support behind miz and teinhyr. Has it occurred to toy that they attacked because they were provoked and they have been attacked and subsequently damaged trying to protect the rest of New Eden from something worse?
Considering that anyone transporting any corpse will be attacked regardless⌠I donât believe thatâs necessarily the case. Itâs a very remote possibility, but at best it should be treated as an unknown right now.
We may not be saints, but the Drifters certainly arenât either.
Yeah, as much as youâve been killing them? If they have the abiliry to communicate they expect you to kill them. I wouldnât trust a group who commits genocide against me either
But Iâll consider that a considerable compliment, that you take our efforts to be so potent and determined as to wipe out a power that engaged in direct combat with the Imperial navy for multiple months and withdrew of their own accord with no apparent loss of combat capability.
Thatâs ⌠kind of a glib response, pilot. And pretty beside the point.
As far as we can tell, they donât talk to anyone. And we know they can, or at least, could, not so long ago. They impersonated Hilen Tukoss to persuade capsuleers to provide them a bunch of DNA sequences I guess they were missing.
It doesnât seem like getting another live translator should be an impossible thing for them, if thatâs what theyâre missing.
When you write these reports in the future Uriel would it be possible to add the names of the pilots and who was in command of the death squads for these actions.
You maybe proven right , if so im sure the nations of New Eden will reward you all properly. If you are wrong or these death squads make matters worse , then let us hope some kind of justice be brought upon you.
If you think the Drifters are only an imagined enemy I invite you to pop around to one of their hives. Meet the neighbors, shake hands, gift them a casserole. For your troubles Iâm sure theyâll buy you a one way ticket home. Your pod, ship, and crewâŚnot so much.
Combined the appearance of the 3 drifter fleets & the reveal of the Concord data file into one publication: Multiple Drifter fleets sighted
For now, my opinion on all this is: observe them closely. The last time Drifters formed fleets in our space, it ended up being bad news.
However, I suspect it wonât come to that (barring further developments) due to the damaged nature of the Drifter ships, a telltale sign something is amiss on the Drifter side of things.
Who or what that is, will hopefully be unveiled soon.
An agent of mine was going thru caldari space on business when he came acrossed a drifter fleet numbering about 50 ships. I was informed shortly after and I came to have a look for myself. I was on the gate for nearly 2 hours watching them scan anything that came near them. They only attacked when provoked. Then an ARC coercer fleet came in and did nothing short of slaughter them for the crime of scanning. So, may I ask, what was the point? They posed no immediate threat and the caldari forces as well as the updated concord battleships paid them no mind. They let them do what they were doing and didnât antagonize them. What gives ARC the right to go over concord and the empires heads? For all you know you are making a tense situation much much worse. How many lives have you doomed today by slaughtering these drifters?
