[ARC] Solicitation for Enclave Boarding Mission Parameters

Ah. Of course. Sorry, ma’am. Risks of idle browsing.

Nothing to apologize for. Better you point it out before any of the usual parties do.

Yes, who notices your errors is far more important than not making them.

Really, Makoto, you’re getting downright She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named-esque in your devolution to a parody of yourself.

Apparently typos are evil now.

Oh the horror.

Seriously, Arrendis? I made an honest mistake instead of playing a cheap shot for all it’s worth and there’s no difference between these?

I was a little glad to see you reporting some tactical data on the Drifters. Thank you for that. I was starting to think you’d really switched sides, sort of.

This is well said. I was going to rebuttal with the idea that perhaps Drifters cannot differentiate between capsuleers, and to them acting within their playbook is just an extension of their reaction to capsuleer aggression. Afterall, how well do any of us understand the intricacies of Drifter Society? By looking at a ship can you easily tell where their allegiance lies, who they work for, if the voted in the last Drifter election or whatever in gods names their affiliation is? Or do you just think scary drifter ship, shoot it. I don’t think it is a stretch to venture that perhaps their understanding of our “empires” or the independent status of capsuleers may well be limited.

That being said your response is more than enough to assure me that this is at least something you have carefully considered, which I can appreciate. I’m not certain if I entirely agree with the “wormhole capsuleers are already killing more Drifters than us, so what’s the harm in killing more?” but that is just strictly on principle and philosophy. I’m not in a position to judge ARC’s actions as right or wrong. It’s just an interesting question that I enjoy talking through, and it gives you a chance to explain the organization’s reasoning better so we can all be more well informed.

As far as the point about their assault on the Society well… This is entirely just banter on my part but frankly I’ve never completely trusted their lot, and while the attack may not have been their fault per say I am far from accepting that it was done without reason. That isn’t to say that we should sit idol by or refuse to acknowledge the Drifter threat, of course.

This is all fascinating, and you will have to forgive my ignorance in not knowing any of this. Again, as a groundpounder my experience with these advanced races is extremely limited compared to the average capsuleer.

All the same, if I am understand this report right then it seems to me that a strong case could be made for these Drifters operating more like an invasive species within these hives and should be dealt with accordingly. Moreover, these hives seem to operate less like population centers and more like, well, hives or “reproduction” centers for the Drifters with nothing resembling a sort of typical civilian populous. Even then you have proven that should any evidence you are willing to take steps to safeguard those lives and the lives of any potential Sleepers onboard.

This whole time I was under the impression that the Drifters and the Sleepers were one in the same, with the Drifters merely being some sort of military caste to protect sleeper hives. Now that I know this is demonstrably not the case then (for what little its worth) you have my full support in these operations.

You didn’t make a mistake at all. You noticed one. All Makoto had to do was say thank you and fix it, without the snarky backhand. I just think it’s telling how even when just correcting a typo, she had to go that way. LeKim is really rubbing off on her.

Anyway, as far as the tactical data… it’s not like I want these critters in my space, either. I just think if you’re going to go all exterminatus on them, you should be honest about it. Anyway, it’s important to remember when using fighters of any sort, you want to make sure you bring dromis. The webs help. A lot.

Arataka Research continues to chase the shadows in the darkest of nights… I wonder what they’ll do when they find what casts them…

The easiest way to get rid of the shadows is to turn off the light, you know.

Aeon, I thought you were dead. Last I heard you were succumbing to your wounds for the final time after the tac net shutdown. Your final message was very ominous. What happened to you?

It’s hard to get better from death with no way to transfer to a new clone

True, but, soft clones are kinda standard these days.

Not saying that’s what happened or that having to activate one isn’t a serious thing. Just that they’re common.

When he sent out his final transmission, he did not expect to be reanimated. That’s obvious in the words he used. See for yourself. What follows is the final transmission of Aeon Amadi.

Go through an airlock? It would have to have at least one. Cut the locking mechanism with a laser, pull the door off and go inside.

That is possible but unless it’s done with care, it would severely damage the structure. The damage might set off alarms, failsafes, any number of counter intrusion measures. Having cut into an airlock or two in the past myself, for what ARC is doing they need to approach this with a lot of care. Years after the discovery of Drifters and Sleepers I feel we’ve still barely scratched the surface.

Going through anything not an airlock would inevitably do more damage.
