[ARC] Triglavian Industrial Assessment

We have spent a lot of time studying the Triglavian industrial materials, even calling in outside specialists, because some of the technology is beyond our capabilities. Their basic ship patterns are not too dissimilar to our own apart from the use of the Singularity which we still do not really understand.

The term zero-point energy (ZPE) is sometimes used interchangeably with the terms zero-point radiation and ground state energy. The term zero-point field (ZPF) can be used when referring to a specific vacuum field, for instance the QED vacuum which specifically deals with quantum electrodynamics (e.g., electromagnetic interactions between photons, electrons and the vacuum) or the QCD vacuum which deals with quantum chromodynamics (e.g., color charge interactions between quarks, gluons and the vacuum). A vacuum can be viewed not as empty space but as the combination of all zero-point fields. In quantum field theory this combination of fields is called the vacuum state, its associated zero-point energy is called the vacuum energy and the average energy value is called the vacuum expectation value (VEV) also called its condensate.

This really points to the singularity being a kind of quantum event horizon caused by the enormous amount of energy contained within it. In effect a bubble of space time, from which they are able to siphon energy.

Leaving that aside we have enough information contained with the design schematic obtained from the Triglavians to duplicate their ships with a few necessary modifications to suit our own requirements.

Even their more advanced designs are possible to duplicate although we have so far been unable to unlock some of the fundamental components and are forced to use what we can salvage from the wrecks of their defeated ships. These constitute the following parts.

Lattice Locked Dekaisogen

A strong and light construction material that is used in Triglavian ship designs and others adapted from such designs. Potentially useful as a component in various other technologies.

A highly versatile material, lattice locked dekaisogen is a refined and processed product based on Crystalline Isogen-10. The material is used throughout Triglavian technology and is the basis of the highly effective armor used in their ships.

Radiation Absorption Thruster

A propulsion system component used in Triglavian ship designs and others adapted from such designs. Potentially useful as a component in various other technologies.

This propulsion technology is clearly designed to be used in conjunction with Triglavian power systems, harnessing for motive power some of the radiation released by quantum effects of the singularity at the heart of the ship.

Singularity Radiation Convertor

A power generation system component used in Triglavian ship designs and others adapted from such designs. Potentially useful as a component in various other technologies.

This power generation technology works by converting into usable energy the radiation produced by the singularity that is the critical feature of Triglavian power systems.

Trinary State Processor

An information processing component used in Triglavian ship designs and others adapted from such designs. Potentially useful as a component in various other technologies.

Triglavian technologies are designed to be run by trinary-based code and this device is a key component of information processing in such systems. Determining how to interface with and interpret the input and output of such devices was a key breakthrough in the use of Triglavian technology.

Zero-Point Field Manipulator
A power control and distribution system component used in Triglavian ship designs and others adapted from such designs. Potentially useful as a component in various other technologies.

Triglavian power systems produce vast quantities of energy, harvesting and converting the energy from singularity radiation, and use zero-point field manipulation to control, distribute and even store this energy.

As can be seen their technology relies almost exclusively on Isogen-10, an allotrope of the more readily available Isogen mineral we use in our own industrial processes, and the manipulation and control of zero point energy. There has been some speculation about whether they are searching for allotropic Isogen-5 but Isogen-5 is an exceedingly rare, extremely unstable variant of isogen found only in blue bright star (Type O1) systems. Its rarity is at a point that until recently it was half-believed to be only theoretical in nature. It glows very brightly. Whether there is any worth extracting is debatable but the same processes that form it may, I believe, easily be applied to the forming of Isogen-10. Allotropes are created normally by the application of intese heat and pressure and this seems to be what they are doing with the transmuter, although work is still ongoing in examining that process. I see no indication that they are using Isogen-5 in any system they build, and the production of Isogen-10 may well be less difficult and produce a less volatile material.

The main problem is that we do not know how they manufacture the necessary components for their advanced designs. In the case of our own advanced ships we use products produced in dedicated planetary industrial installations. It is quite likely that they do something very similar. This is evidenced by their interest in acquiring control of industrial complexes on their planets in captured systems as widely reported in the news. I do not think they would go to such trouble unless they were planning to make use of them. Obviously our installations will require modification and it may well be that the planets will too, there are already discussions ongoing about whether this may already be happening. With any large scale industrial process there is invariably some fall out in the local ecosystem and I fear the worst for the inhabitants of these planets. Hopefully we can regain control before any serious harm takes place but the upshot is that we may gain planets modified to produce the advanced components and thus reduce our reliance on salvaged materials.
