I do not have a Tik Tok account. Nor do I have any particular desire to have one either. I am not able to play the video.. Shrugs
It may have been like that, but seems like James lost the control.
Serves him right for playing God.
I’M NOT THE THREAD NECRO, THE GUY ABOVE DID IT!
I’m just posting stuff.
Currin Trading was always a joke…
“The Code” was not even his original idea
It was all about Aiko, right from the start.
I’m not sure that is true.
Capsuleers are essentially superhuman, yes, but planets are probably not entirely defenseless either. Even a single space station can survive a single player trying to take it out pretty easily since they have dps caps and timers. Planets with civilizations should have something equal or more than any upwell structures.
But there are none. It would bring a new meaningfulness to sys. I think that’s a lot to ask of CCP with a 20 yr old game.
so everyone lives in space stations?
Actually the Lore is pretty silent on how much of the population lives in space. At the same time we know that according to lore that multiple planets are host to the various civilizations. Also there is mentioned that here and there are uncontacted societies and civilizations.
A single fortizar has a lot of infrastructure. That needed work is not just done by bots or even a sophisticated computer hardware.. AI I would guess these days. Still the human population I would imagine runs into the thousands.. Maybe a good ten thousand or so. For the largest Upwell structure probably in all likelihood may run close to an easy million plus people. From fabricating part and building ships to reprocessing to handling logistics. With support and help from bots and whatever supercomputer or AI that may exist.
It is not inconceivable that many people have never step foot on a planet or even experience gravity from anything more than what a ship or structure may generate.
FYI there is no such thing as artificial gravity. Gravity is gravity no matter how it is generated. Whether by a planet or by some science that exists in New Eden. Something that always amuses me when I read it in a science fiction story or novel.
But back on topic. It is not outside of the realm of possibilities that there are people that have never been off of their planet in their entire lives. A mission for distribution has one delivering bums to be worked.
As well as a mission of saving a rich sight seeing cruise ship. That you go in and shoot some bad guy out of the sky. Saving a bunch of bored rich people from the excitement of being killed or held hostage..
Thank you for enlightenment on this topic! I thought I was pretty well versed on lore, but it seems I only have a surface level of understanding at the moment.
Because of this and some other posts about the lore in-game, I’ve made a competition within my corp for new and old players to highlight some of the more interesting parts they find. Previously I relied somewhat on Remi for some lore knowledge but he is hyperfocused on industry and apparently knows even less about the lore than I do.
I am shamed by my lack of knowledge!
I dunno man, yesterday I saw @James_Fuchs and his gang killing so many venture bots, they did it at my side, I saw it with my own eyes.
Gotta give this man a medal, the bad fit those dudes were using needs to be destroyed with fire.
And lets be real, if they want to get the ISK back from losing their ships in the war, that low effort alpha clone mining is not going anywhere.
Safety kinda helped everybody here:
1 - It helped the botter to try harder;
2 - It cleaned the trash out the space;
3 - It provided content, mining is so boring, IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW CONCORD IN ACTION, kind cool;
When they kill me, I won’t keep hard feelings, they trying to teach me something, I just don’t know what it is, but I’ll try hard to learn foh sure!
I mean, just ram a titan in to a planet and you basically win, and thats assuming you didn’t use warp shenanigans to have it impact the surface at mach wtf
This is not correct.
Are you familiar with terms like centrifugal force? In a lot of science fiction there are rotating habitats that utilize this force to mimic gravity, but it is not gravity. To a normal person, that would be considered artificial gravity.
It is common understanding that anything not naturally occuring is artificial. For example, intelligence is intelligence, but when it is from a computer it is called artificial intelligence.
It’s not like gravity though. Things move… oddly. If you bounce a ball, it will not return to you. There is a big difference.
I would like to submit my disagreement!
My evidence:

You are talking about a gravity as experienced on the moon. Which has less gravity than earths. Martian gravity is only a little better than the earths moon by comparison. Gravity is, no matter the pull, still the same phenomena.
There is many studies, white papers, and peer reviewed articles out there that discusses the nature of gravity. The question of what is actually might or not might be gravity. If you decide to get into the weeds of this subject. It is a rabbit hole that the last I look. Which admittedly was a good five years ago. Was at that time some what all over the place. As to what and how gravity is generated or produced. Or if what we know as gravity even exists..
The only consensus that was anyone could agree on was that gravity, no matter how it was generated or how strong it might be, is still just that. That artificial gravity is something for science fiction stories.
Check my answer with Glenduil.
Gravity is a force, as known by current scientific standards.
Centrifugal force is not the same thing, yet it can be used as a substitute. The problem isnt knowing that, it’s having enough energy to make it worthwhile.
Anything that is not naturally occurring in that space and time is artificial. Anything “manmade” is artificial, as per definition.
This is a game where there are no npc’s living anywhere. ![]()
Off topic. I see a gravity drive as a way to circumnavigate time dilation.
According to Einstein’s theory of General Relativity, a phenomenon known as gravitational time dilation. Time passes more slowly near massive objects (stronger gravity) compared to regions with weaker gravity. This occurs because gravity warps spacetime, curving the time dimension itself.
lore exists. Imagine my own astonishment to find that out!
