Fear monger of the year award goes to @QuakeGod even tho its Februrary
What fear mongering? That is exactly what would happen. There are already mining bots and market bots as it is. Take away the threat of PvP and that would increase a thousand fold…
An area with no PVP will not ruin the game
The only way that it would not affect the market or the rest of the game is if there were absolutely no resources available in that space. No mining, no missions, nothing. You want to play with your pretty space ship and station in peace? Fine, but you aren’t going to be making billions unscathed doing it…
Wrong
Or abandon it. I can begin anchoring a new Athanor in another system long before you blow up that one. And no- you’re not going to just warp to the new one and blow it up too because it won’t be anywhere nearby. Athanors aren’t worth defending. They’re disposable. No amount of posts on this thread will ever change the fact that they are just not worth defending.
On that we can agree. Athanors, as far as structures go, are dirt cheap and easily replaceable.
Sure but you can earn nothing of value in those areas to maintain the risk vs reward balance.
Resources available in areas with low risk will be abundant on the market assuming they arent rare. Low ISK / Hour
Yes, and players and mining bot fleets would be mining untold amounts of said material in perfect safety, placing those materials on the market, and crashing their price down to nothing…
Fear mongerer
Again, that is exactly what would happen. If I have 1 unit of Unobtainium, it’s priceless. But if there are 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 units of it on the market, it becomes all but worthless…
Which was 2018. That’s 7 years ago…when CCP said the issue "may be discussed
further by CCP at a later date "
Seven years to have a further discussion on an allegedly urgent issue ? I’m pretty sure if there had been major further discussion since, you wouldn’t keep referring to 2018.
Why would Unobtanium spawn in low risk areas @QuakeGod
In CCP’s defense, it took them 15 years just to fix the tutorial to where new players would stop asking “How do I mine Tritanium?” ten thousand times a day in Rookie Help chat…
Any resource that spawns in abundance in a low risk area will be common on the market. There is nothing wrong with that
That would apply to common ores like Veldspar as well…
PVP is not the only risk in the game
This below is the perfect ore to be allowed for mining in no PvP areas
.
Let me give you a little class in Economics 101. The more you have of something, the less it is worth. That’s why the United States is experiencing record amounts of inflation because the Fed keeps printing out trillions of dollars out of thin air and placing it into the economy. When you do that, it de-values the currency…
