Asking for your opinions on those fits

Oï !

I am currently theorycrafting some fitting for a nullsec PVE T3C. Since I live in a C1 wormhole with a nullsec static, and I cannot rat everyday in this pocket, I often go on some roams in the nearby systems to find DED, Unrated Complex or any form of combat anomaly to do some ISK, and I am limited to a maximum of medium-sized ship, because of wormhole restrictions, so a Strategic Cruiser would be the most interesting package to rat and travel “safely”. I plan to use two fittings : one for travel, with Covert Ops and Nullification, and another one for combat. I have chosen the missile subsystem, because I already have decent skills in Missiles, but if the Projectile Turret subsystem could help me achieve better and faster results in PVE combat, let me know

Then, here is the combat fit :

[Loki, Combat Loki]

Loki Propulsion - Wake Limiter
Loki Offensive - Launcher Efficiency Configuration
Loki Defensive - Augmented Durability
Loki Core - Augmented Nuclear Reactor

Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Heavy Assault Missile

Ballistic Control System II
Overdrive Injector System II
Damage Control II

Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Core Defense Field Extender II

Hammerhead II x4
Nanite Repair Paste x100

Of course, the Invulnerability Fields could be swapped to match the local pirate damage pattern, same for the Missile. I also plan to pack in a bunch of Rage and Javelin HAM, just in case the faction ones cannot apply their damage to smaller ships, and deal better damage on battleship rats.
With every Subsystem skill to IV, I have 91.9k eHP and deal 531 DPS.

Concerning the travel fit, I came up with this :

[Loki, Travel Loki]

Loki Propulsion - Interdiction Nullifier
Loki Offensive - Launcher Efficiency Configuration
Loki Defensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Loki Core - Dissolution Sequencer

Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Heavy Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Nova Heavy Assault Missile
Core Probe Launcher II
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II

50MN Microwarpdrive II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Large Shield Extender II

Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Inertial Stabilizer II
Inertial Stabilizer II
Inertial Stabilizer II

Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II
Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II
Medium Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II

Hammerhead II x4

Align time is 6.44s, warp speed is 7.3 AU/s, tank is 31.3k eHP and DPS is 415. In the cargo bay will be a Mobile Depot, the three Medium Core Defense Field Extender II, and the combat subsystems.

So, what are your thoughts on those two fittings, please ?

I think you might benefit from looking up what tank is. You have a buffer tank which will not save you from consistent damage you’ll get from a site. DPS is fairly poor as well for a T3C.

Missiles are as good as your missile skills, look into the damage you get with them and with projectiles and pick the best.

I have a good projectile Loki fit for krabbing in the exact way you described (though it clocks at almost 1B), PM me here or in game if you want it.

The biggest problem with HAML PvE Loki fit like yours or my is a range. AB will make you travel relatively slow and with just over 20 km range you will lose time to get your dps to the place where it needed most

Ever thought about Nestor? Drone boat with sentry drones can apply INSTANT DPS whenever needed… And yes, it can get through C1 WH

Thank’ya mate ! I’ll try to look at it.

Eh, the problem with Nestor is that it can’t really go through a gatecamp, because of battleship level align time, and size
I’m searching a medium-sized ship, like T3C, because with the good fit, they can actually save me if I get caught in a bubble, because of the MWD+Cloak trick.

Concerning your proposition, @Root_er, I am interested in seeing your Projectile fit Loki, please
You can post it here, or send it by EVE Mail, your call.

Alright, came with something new, using autocannons.

[Loki, Projectile Loki]

Loki Core - Augmented Nuclear Reactor
Loki Offensive - Projectile Scoping Array
Loki Defensive - Augmented Durabilitiy
Loki Propulsion - Wake Limiter

220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M
220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Hail M

50MN Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Thukker Large Shield Extender
Thukker Large Shield Extender
Thukker Large Shield Extender

Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Gyrostabilizer II
Shield Power Relay II

Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Projectile Burst Aerator I

Hobgoblin II x5

On PYFA (and with the implants currently in my clones), I’m getting 630 DPS, 73.5k eHP and a shield recharge rate of 202 eHP/s. Any thoughts ?

So on this guy you’re still mixing passive and buffer tanks, which… meh. While I’d highly recommend going active tank, if you have to do passive or buffer choose one. Either swap that SPR for a PDU or the CDFEs for purgers.

If I were to do a projectile Loki for exploration it would probably look something along these lines:

[Loki, arty explo]

Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Republic Fleet Gyrostabilizer
Tracking Enhancer II

Corelum B-Type 10MN Afterburner
Thukker Large Cap Battery
Pith A-Type Large Shield Booster
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Pith C-Type Shield Boost Amplifier

720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma M
720mm Howitzer Artillery II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma M
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II
Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe
[Empty High slot]

Medium Processor Overclocking Unit II
Medium Projectile Locus Coordinator I
[Empty Rig slot]

Loki Core - Augmented Nuclear Reactor
Loki Defensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Loki Offensive - Projectile Scoping Array
Loki Propulsion - Wake Limiter

Couple of things to note here.

  1. I hate medium ACs. Medium artillery have their downsides, but at least you can learn to fly better and apply damage at range. ACs face the same problem you had with HAMs: you have to get close to do damage. And in my experience you don’t want to get too close. With this fit you’re pushing 503 DPS at 28.1+39.4 – which means you’re actually doing damage out past 30. The same fit with 425s, all else equal, does 597 DPS at 2.81+23.2. With the old rule of thumb to stay within optimal + half falloff, your effective range is all of 14.5. That’s… terrible. And sure, 720s have tracking issues, but you just pilot around them.

  1. The faction large cap battery/deadspace large shield booster combination is… possibly overpowered? It’s very strong at the least. You get a huge boost to shield, even more so with the boost amp, while maintaining cap stability and neut protection. I’m looking at 533.5 EHP/s without overloading anything or pimping the invuln.

  2. I didn’t bother with a travel fit, obviously. I actually like using the covops sub for running combat sites in low (though I don’t use a Loki). In null you likely do want the nullifier, but at least that’s only a single subsystem swap. If you wanted you could of course use another defensive subsystem. I’d use adaptive defense though.

Well, thanks for that very good fit mate !

It’s true, autocannons are quite hard to use… And the BOOM BOOM style of Artillery is always nice ^^

I’ll try to see what I can do with this fit, thanks.
