When I have 6 roids targeted and one runs out of ore is there a way to let my drones move onto the next roid without me telling it to? Yeah, I know there is a script or something similar. And yeah I understand that this has probably been asked 1000s of times. I found a thread from 2019 but nothing since?
No, because no one wants more AFK droneminers in the game. So, itâs a feature to force you to pay attention. A feature that is good for the game.
Thanks for getting back so promptly, yeah I understand thanks for the info.
well appreciated.
If you want to watch a space movie, there are plenty of options.
EVE however is a game and that means you interact with the spaceship you see on your screen. And if one asteroid is fully mined out, you set your mining lasers and drones on another asteroid.
Eve is so non-interactive that you need to play on 10+ clients concurrently to not fall asleep while mining, and even then can still watch netflix while mining with your 10 covetor alts, you mean?
Which still is too many actions per minute according to this thread, because it should all be automated.
Why not take the next step and also automatically teleport the mined ore to Jita sell orders?
Good droneboat whales look out for the largest rocks on grid and assign one drone to each of the 5 largest rocks before going to sleep, so they have more ore in their cargohold when they wake up some hours later.
This would actually make sense, at least it would bring mining in line with the other k-space content, where you get payed even if you donât make it out alive, too.
But wait, donât combat drones auto attack/defend? Why is it okay for combat drones to auto queue but not mining drones?
Because combat is usually over after a few minutes and there is nothing more to gain, so if you go afk your âprofitâ is very much limited. And by chance, the NPCs do even kill your drones, even if they canât kill your ship.
Roids on the other hand donât shoot back, so the drones would just mine for huuuuge amounts of time while the ship owner doesnât even need to be there. Doubt it? Look here:
Thats what people would do, if this auto-mining would be in the game. Harvesting belts over belts over belts with MiningOrcas totally AFK, multiboxing a 20 of them while being asleep, at work or at school. Do I want such an EVE Online? No. I donât.
Id just assign a drone to each asteroid
