Back in the game - event combat fit advice?

Sorry if this isn’t the right spot - just got back into the game after a few years off.

I’ve got a mostly-passive Gila that sounds like it might get the job done against the high sec combat sites, but never fought drifters before. Every relevant skill (drones, missiles, core, shield, ship, etc) is maxed). Currently it’s got 3x LSE II’s, plus some active hardeners (EM and thermal, probably for xmas event a few years back.) Drone range&tracking mods in the lows plus a Damage Control II. 3 rigs all for shield recharge rate. Could do light missiles or rlml in the highs.

Any modifications recommended? I’ve heard neuts can come in to play, wondering if I should use passive shield hardeners, or whatever they’re called? Do I need any kind of prop?

Thanks for the advice - feels good to be back!

Welcome back, I don’t have any build advice for you. Have you tried YouTube? Also Rookie Chat in game seems like all they talk about is the best builds.

YT vids follow

The High Sec Parasites will be drooling reading this .

Meh, I still remember enough about the fundamentals of watching my back. Turns out my hunch for a Gila fit works splendidly - 3x LSEs plus rigs to help it recharge, couple of drone mods in the lows, active EM and Thermal hardeners plus Damage Control to help offset damage. RLMLs with scourge rage for DPS. Plus AB to get me close to the BS so I can loot immediately.

Main thing to do is find a quiet-ish area.

Thanks above to the poster suggesting vids. My eyesight is terrible so it takes me forever to wade through search results that should be relevant but aren’t.

A few years back, my doctor put those plastic lens in each eye. My father had macular degeneration and I still use eye glasses to read, but I understand what you mean.

I was told by the friend who invited me here 2 years ago, to search up a lot about the game on YouTube and the wiki before I even started to play. During that time of research, I set my main character to training basic core skills.

The NPCs do not warp scramble so you are free to warp in and give the fit a try. Just a little tip: You need as much DPS as possible for the final NPC because if there are other people doing the site they might get the final points if they did more DPS than you.
