Mostly a Caldari space issue, which seems to have this “cloudy sky” background whenever I’m flying around in its space. That white, cloudy sky background makes it REALLY hard to see if some modules are active when those modules use a light green or white edge highlight to show its active (like the mwd).
Is there any way to turn off that “cloudy sky” background? I’m perfectly happy if this makes all background black, like space.
Is there any way to change the “active edge highlight” from white/light green to something else? Or possibly put a black outline on it?
No there is no way, however you can position your camera to a more black part of the skybox behind your HUD, or you can turn down your brightness/contract. Or, just move out of caldari space (it’s too crowded and ganky imo).
EDIT: Also modify client brightness setting until you can see everything. I don’t have the kind of problem you’re describing not being able to tell activated modules from non-activated ones. Neither do I need to ‘‘wiggle’’ my camera around for it.
For others this is “Toggle 3D View” and probably would have worked but unfortunately it caused my game client to crash and that appears to be a common problem with this option.
Researching what happened I did find that turning down a few specific graphic options to medium (Post processing, Antialliasing, Shader quality) ended up improving the visibility of the module active state for me, although I still can’t use the Toggle 3D view without crashing. Better enough that at least I have an idea of other things to try. Somewhat solved, better at least if nothing else changes. I have what I need for now.
