Balancing the Books (2 of 10)

Greetings fellow Capsuleers!

I’ve returned to the game after years away and have been working through the AIR Career Programs. I’m currently on the Industrialist path and have gone to complete the Career Agent Missions, picking up the “Balancing the Books” line from Hakkaras Ihora in Uitra. The second mission in this line gives me a Civilian Salvager and tells me to go and retrieve the Black Box from a ship that has been destroyed by pirates. Pretty straight forward, right? Only it isn’t as the system the mission is sending me to is Senda, which is now located in Pochven!

I raised a support ticket and got possibly one of the least helpful GM responses I’ve had in 20+ years of playing MMOs:

I understand your concerns. Any feedback from our players is taken very seriously and we appreciate your contribution. I would encourage you to consider posting your thoughts on the EVE Online forums.

This is a mission intended to introduce new players to the game that deals with really basic concepts. Surely this is not intended? Given that Pochven was established well over 5 years ago, I find it hard to believe that this hasn’t been spotted until now?

CCPlease… fix this!

While you’re there, make sure you blap a single rogue drone so our triangle friends don’t accidentally gank you.

It is genuinely a shame that things like this haven’t been fixed outright.

To me, this is a bug. A GM with real intent on fulfilling their role should be able to help you reset the mission, while they open a bug for their dev colleagues. The bug should be fixed by removing Pochven systems from the random list of mission destinations (some sort of exclusion list). I assume they (devs) know how to fix this, since I haven’t seen a similar problem with regular missions in that area (from agents in Unpas, the system next door).

That doesnt happen anymore. It was changed so if your 0.0 they dont attack

I’m infuriated to hear this. I loved when the trigs showed poshlost foreign narodnya their place in the universe.

Send a reply back to Customer Support and politely request that your support ticket be escalated to a Senior GM…

Hopefully the Senior GM can resolve the issue…
