I see the OP is as toxic as ever, surprised none of us asked for his entertainment budget opinions.
How would you know, you’re “new to the forum”.
When people can’t be smart consumers and buy things in bulk for the discount.
Be my guest if you want to shovel more money to CCP…
Literally creating a YEAR skill plan and purchasing 1 years’ worth of omega time is very worth it in my book tbh.
OP won’t even reply to what I said Probably because its 100% truth?
A predictable response, i guess you really are the echo chamber
Welp looks like OP will go back to the other space games. CCP is not going to change the business model lol.
Be a smart consumer everyone. Purchase things in bulk. Save and budget your $$$ wisely and there is no need to make posts that clearly have no effort behind them.
I know friends who have 2-4+ years of omega time through doing their daily activities plexing.
If CCP wants to charge a monthly subscription EVE online should be the lamboguinis of games. But its not.
People always want more for less. Doesn’t matter if it makes sense, causes issues, forces a game to become (even more) P2W. They don’t care and only think about themselves, short term. Want want want want want and lots of entitlement.
Terrible people.
CCP does not understand that players just want a good game. Players dont care how old it is or how much it costs. But CCP thinks people arent interested in EVE because its old or because of the subscription model. But its because the game is poor quality that its popularity is in steady decline. They dont understand this because they dont play it themselves or any other games. The people who are in charge are basically just rent seekers who are only competent in appearing competent and protecting their job with excuses. There, i said it. Now what?
The only way I know, where any game would be truly 100% free to play, would be to make the users the product you are selling. The game would need to be sponsored by major companies. Instead of some made up product (aka Quafe) you would see real ads for real world products. The game company would place real world coupons for the players to use telling the sponsor their product is being noticed. Product placement would be immersive, if done properly, otherwise if taken too far the users will complain about it being adware.
There are some benefits to subscription only games. The forced paid sub means few to none unwanted elements, spammers, and RMT in the game. If you set the sub too high, it becomes a gated community. Where only the elite gamers hang out, with their pink and blue hair, all the while screaming at the top of their lungs, “You loser! You have a weak mindset, you must like being imperfect?!”.
It is the basic trade off of free to grind versus pay to play.
Nah, that is not how it works. If you do really end up playing whole year then ok, you will shove less money to CCP, but if you take a break/quit after 3 months, then you shove more. Plus I heard so many cases where peoples paid 1 year sub with their credit card, then stopped playing and the subscription was automatically renewing each year without their consent/knowledge and they found out several years after they returned and guess what - no skill was even trained during that time.
Therefore I only PLEX 1 month at the time, I don’t like the commitment that the more months option brings even though I will probably play more than 3 months.
Was it all really worth creating a 2 day old alt to post ?
LMAO! Right, I can’t wait to see Damon and Juan kiss again.
How about some perks for Alphas linked to active Omega subscriptions? Ah, the many benefits of linked accounts. Fair enough you don’t want any more passive income but level 4 missions don’t seem like too much to ask. Technically I could pull missions with my main, but that’s rather inconvenient. I just want a use for those battleships I can barely fly!
But you can already do this. If you have omega account, then you can get the level 4 mission, fly there, bookmark it and then log out and do it with alpha.
The thing is, whats the point? You can’t play omega+alpha at the same time, so this doesn’t make any sense. The only thing that is alpha good for when you have another account omega is passive income and that obviously need to be restricted to maximum.
That’s what I mean, it’s only a convenience, not really unlocking anything I can’t already do. As for why, personally I like the fresh start from zero in a new part of space loop. That early, rapid character development, trying new things, etc. If I find something I like, maybe I consider upgrading or relocating.
Level 4 missions were removed from alphas because people were using bots to farm them. I’d prefer CCP go harder into developing content for homefronts. Make the content more active so they can’t be botted or multiboxed, and make it easier for people to find a group to fleet up with.
If handled correctly, homefronts could be used as a method to onboard new players into playing with other people. And while it is currently alpha friendly, it could be even more so with the addition of frigate homefronts.
Then eventually, the incursion system could be rolled into homefronts to give those alpha players a goal to work toward and a reason to upgrade into omega.
And if the homefronts themselves are tied into a fw style mechanic between the empires and the pirates (perhaps it would dictate the security level of various star systems) there might be a reason to engage with the mechanic beyond merely making money.
CCP took lv 4 missions away from alphas because of botting they claimed. I LOVED doing lv 4 distribution missions in my t1 hauler as an alpha back then. So chill, made like 15mil/hr. Speeding around in my badger.
Incursions/ WH,NS,LS PVE anoms. Alphas could do DED sites also (in smaller ships)
Yup this is what I really like. CCP really wants to balance the two. They want many individual players grouping up but… they also want the extra omega accounts via multiboxing.
Please anything to change the status quo in incursions. I want to see all the meta gamers, all the absent leadership who run the communities and barely play the game to freak out. It’s due time. Need to turn things upside down and shake it up.
Really interesting to see the ways CCP is attempting to push everyone together. Is it effective? I will let the bigger pundits debate that.
