Biocybernetic incidents in high sec

Maybe it’s just me but I hope they look at the frequency/ratio of biocybernetic incident spawns. As you all know, with this latest ‘escalation’, class 3 events are occurring in high sec. While that may sound like a good thing, in the area of space that I am, I don’t think hardly anyone is attempting these class 3 incidents. In flying around looking for sites to do, I see multiple class 3’s in multiple systems. And these class 3’s just sit there, unused. I’m using my Agency tab to look for combat anomalies and moving from system to system. When I loop back, the same class 3’s are still there.

From what I am seeing, class 1’s are being utilized. Class 2’s seem to have heavy competition and heavy use. So far (and it’s only the first day of it) class 3’s are not being utilized. This may just be what is happening in the part of space that I am and maybe players will fit ships and start to run these sites. If there are being utilized then by all means, I’m all for having these class 3’s in the mix. I’m just not sure that they are or will be. (I suspect that the players that are able to do these class 3’s are also players that are more likely to go to low sec, null sec or WH space). The players that are doing 1’s and 2’s likely don’t have the skills to attempt type 3’s.

I don’t know the mechanics but it seems likely that a biocybernetic spawn has a certain percentage of being class 1, 2 or 3. And it seems likely that there is a limit to how many sites will spawn in a given system. So if there is a class 3 that no one is using, it takes the place of a potential class 1 or 2. If it turns out that people are not taking advantage of the class 3’s in high sec, I would hope that they turn down the spawn rate/ratio, if such a thing is possible. (I admit I have no idea how the mechanics of this work and I could be off base on my thinking about this).

Does anyone have insight? Are class 3 sites being utilized in other areas of space?

I was hitting the class 3’s all day yesterday along with a few others around me.

We left each other alone when we warped in and saw someone.

Then it was a race to the next ones, but if the 3’s were gone I did the 2’s instead and made some good Isk and grabbed some decent skins.

I’m in High Sec Derelik Region… I switch between scanning for Crimson Harvest Network Node Hacking sites and running the Crimson Gauntlet Combat sites…

Where I’m located, I’ve seen a small group of players moving around within a few systems mainly running the Class 2 Bio sites… However I’ve also seen the Class 3 Bio Beacons show up on Overview a few times as well so yeah, players are definitely running those sites…

I ran them hard as soon as they hit high sec, dusted off the Hecate and made a gang of ISK. There was also a lot of competition for them, even had a gank attempt in one that resulted in the ganker getting blapped by concord while I tanked him and the Squall. He had me into deep hull but overheating reps and swapping to defensive mode won the day. We both had a good laugh and an o7 in local. Shout out to that capsuleer for having the audacity to try to gank a Hecate in a Coercer, and almost pulling it off!

I did notice not many people were running them in the first 24 hours, but after that it was hot and heavy and aften I would enter a system with a few of them up and people already in them.

I was stoked they dropped these in high sec because I was burned out on Gauntlets and class 2’s, and I generally don’t do combat sites in low sec. I hung out in Amarr empire space for most of the event as my usual stomping grounds in Gallente space was being farmed hard. Amarr space was a bit more forgiving.

Anyway, that is my two cents! o7
