Warden, I would like to remind you that our goal is and should remain the preservation of mortal life and the defense of the world from entities hostile to the populace.
For the past several days, our ground forces have been engaging Svarog’s forces in an ongoing…“proving”…effort. Proving by combat is one way for us to buy time and shield the remaining mortal populace from the Svarog forces until we can get them out, until we’ve…what? “proven” ourselves to the Trigs and by extension proven those mortals whom we defend, or until the situation otherwise changes.
I can say this, my days of being skeptical of the Triglavians are certainly coming to a middle. I for one will continue to fight them until such time as I can guarantee the safety of our charges from them. I don’t much care if that’s in the form of them acknowledging us as “proven,” the complete annihilation of the local Triglavian forces, the repatriation of the world or system as a whole back to it’s legal rulers, or some other situation change. Again, I will keep fighting until such time as either I no longer need to fight or am once again unable to do so.
Our forces should not have been involved in the attack on the station, however much strategic sense it makes to limit the potential threat it posed. other avenues had not yet been exhausted. Admitedly I should have played greater attention at the time and spoken against such a plan, as such I too am at fault for such inattentiveness and inaction.
Elsebeth Rhiannon both has a reputation behind them, but more than that we have seen their actions with our own eyes Warden. Their word is good. It is possible they are mistaken, or may not have the full picture on everything on which they are speaking, but I believe they speak to the best of their available knowledge.
Tensions are high, a likely premature engagement was made because of it. We are most fortunate that loss of mortal life was not a factor in these engagements in space, and that a pause at the least has been put on this madness. That said I would still urge caution before putting more mortalives at risk, to much blood had been spilt and too much more will need to be shed before this is over. Let us make sure we are not adding to it unnecessarily
