Hello, I am a brand new player. I have only played about 10 hours in game but I became instantly hooked. I love being able to be social and play with friends. Looking for a group to join that could be patient with my schedule and abilities in this game

So after ten hours, what do you prefer ?
Are you more into the player driven market ? You can hope to make a career in it, making a fortune or even ending in charge of the finances of a whole alliance.
Are you more into pvp ? Then you can be a soldier in a huge army ( null sec alliances), a solo pvper or a roamer in a small gang ( low sec FW and pirate alliances) or dive with your fleetmates in the unknown ( Wormhole alliances).
Are you more into building things ? You can set up entire chains of production as an industrialist, organize mining fleets and build yourself the biggest ships of the game.
Eve is a game where you set your own goal. Soon you topic will be flooded with recruitment offers : don’t follow a path because people tell you to. Each area of the game has its own playstyle and no corp does everything.
Eve university is a good start if you just want to discover the game, chill out and socialize. You can always choose a more specialized corp later.
My own corp is pure pvp in low sec, our alliance the oldest of the game : Ushra’Khan. So great for small gang/solo pvp from frigates to battleships. But it comes at the cost of standing hits and the need for neutral alts for any high sec activity. We are involved in faction warfare. Again for learning pvp but if you rather build an industrial empire we are not the best choice, same if you want to get involved in ratting or mining.
