Bring back the MARAUDERs 100% plates bonuses! FUN or DUST!

Dude, seriously tired of dealing with you constantly trying to twist things around to fit your warped narrative…

Go back and re-read the convo, it actually started out with you touting CCP’s BS that new player ganking doesn’t happen… I then jokingly called you a ganker which triggered you so I went with it… You then claimed you’re not a ganker because you haven’t done it in a long time… Well, time doesn’t matter on that, especially since you have a negative security status… I then said grats on podding High Sec WarDec targets who were in Shuttles and Corvettes which you denied…

Your KB record shows a string of Pods, Shuttles, Corvettes and Frigates destroyed with Corp mates in Yulai 1.0 system on 09-22-2025… So now you’re claiming they were suspects or gankers even though your previous reply stated you never did any PvP in High Sec..

Yeah right, gankers operating in 1.0 Yulai system… Ok, whatever you say…

Now please stop posting your BS replies to me…

Don’t care and more importantly, I really don’t care…

You don’t care you were wrong?

personally I think, wrong or right (wrong btw). You should stop derailing this thread and discuss the actual topic.

do marauders need a plate bonus to stop the threat of multibox alpha gankers?

No they do not.

As Alphas cannot legally multibox and cannot mechanically gank, I think the threat these ‘multibox alpha gankers’ pose to Marauders is negligible, plate bonus or not.

I haven’t conducted an in-depth analysis, but we’d need to look at high-sec Marauder ganks pre and post plate nerf to make that determination.

Marauders exchange Mobility for an insane Damgage+Projection buff and they sacrifice passive tanking ability for a crazy good active tank.

Giving them passive tanking stats that equal or exceed even faction BS would rob said faction BS of their last real niche in the game, which is high-buffer fleet combat where your survivability depends on the fact if the own fleet logistics / fax can switch over their remote repairs to you in time or not. This is where Faction Battleships shine and outclass Marauders (and guess what, thats intentional, since NAVY ships are designed for big battle operations, while Marauders are designed to work solo or in small numbers largely on their own).

Buffing Marauder passive HP to the level of faction Battleships would lead to the scenario we already had: They replace Faction battleships because they can go into Bastion Mode and once they come under fire they overheat all their hardeners and end Bastion, while being pre-locked by the Logis. And the hostile fleet now has - on average - ~30sek to bring down a 300k-400k eHP monster. Which is pretty much impossible in smallscale fights and, depending on the bling used, even in medscale fights. And once the Bastion Mode is ended, they even tank a lot better under reps because of their T2 resistance profile.

We already had that and it was bad for the game balance. Marauders have their niche, Faction Battleships have their niche. There is no good reason to mess that up and if anything, Marauders are still too strong in terms of range projection, else they are in a pretty good spot right now.

They could at least return the T2 warp speed bonus…

Welcome to Osmon my friend… It’s not always 200Mil/h that was the entire point of making that uncut video… I can travel all Empires, I have good standings, and I don’t get the luxury to pick just the lucrative missions (that was from another thread…).

Actually I don’t care about any excuse you or any other non-involved character tries to post.. Next time just mind your own business instead of trying to escalate thread derailment…

Considering the fact that you and another quickly jumped into a convo that doesn’t concern you and attempted to whiteknight with a BS excuse that he was at an event tells me you’re all just a bunch of Corp buddy alts.. How about you follow your own advice…

300k EHP Monsters I’ve been taken down once from a “smallscale” (30 pilots?) in HS…
Another I survived but the “smallscale” was smaller (15 ships)
pre-locked by logis… that is completely different scenario just handpicked…
C’mon…

No 300k EHP monster can Survive a 10-15 Nightmare tachyons volleys from 150Km away,
and if you are running any “medium scale” op in Null you should have access to some nice Snipers… And what about Moros and Faction Carriers… aren’t they too powerful too???

Of course they are…
It’s the Titan FC that is missing, bc the base has gone or idk what kind of chain reaction got broke
but I have never seen anyone whining about the Obelisk being too tanky untill 5 pilots ganks with those Deathless hulls spooked everyone up… so the Marauder being too much OP sounds a bit ridiculous..

Obelisks cannot fire back and a fleet of them won’t outperform a fleet of T1 battleships, so your argument that a Marauder when it does so is not OP is a bit ridiculous.

Here’s the explanation for the Marauder nerf:

Patch notes 2024-11-08

Please explain why their reason is no longer valid.

Spoiler: their reason is still very much valid. Fleets of (multiboxed) Marauders were very oppressive with those defense bonuses and rightfully lost them.

Yeah, and reduce their mass again. Make them align faster.

That’s probably the only Marauder change we can expect in the current state of the game. At least, it’s the only one that seems theoretically possible within the current balance framework.

Based on the definition…

A marauder is a person or animal that roams around looking for opportunities to steal, destroy, or attack. The term implies lawless, opportunistic behavior, often used to describe roaming bandits, pirates, or groups of raiders traveling together.

Key Contexts and Usage

  • Everyday Language: Used to describe individuals (or even pests and wildlife like foxes) that break into property or wander around looking for things to ruin or steal.

  • History and Warfare: Historically, a marauder referred to a soldier who wandered away from an army camp to rob nearby civilians or a roving band of bandits that plundered villages.

  • Pop Culture: It is frequently used in gaming, fiction, or sci-fi to describe rogue factions, scavenger groups, or combat vehicles (e.g., the Marauder class).

Absolutely not. Their mass was intentionally increased to stop them dominating JSpace by bringing entire marauder fleets easy over to another hole. They don’t need to be superpwnmobiles. They are in a pretty good spot right now.

It probably won’t surprise you that high-sec ganking of BS works exactly this way by design. In most cases, the target will be destroyed before it can even lock a target and fire back.

And that’s probably how things will remain for a long time. We can argue about it, but in the end the best approach is to adapt and search for options or opportunities to use it one way or another.

They could still return the faster warp speed (which is a feature of all T2 hulls). Mass is fine.

Spot on.

I’d call it insane.

Legal or not, do they?

Nullsec examples don’t really belong in this thread.

Hilarious! They’re “oppressive” in your opinion but you don’t apply that to gankers.

So, no counterplay…

Who decides which items get added to the dartboard CCP uses for all of their important decisions? :bullseye: :bullseye: :bullseye:
