#BringBackOurCQ

I was really disappointed to see the CQ gone. I saw the numbers, and I get that it’s a business decision. I don’t like it, but then, I don’t like the game. All I did was sit in the CQ every day, since it’s not like I can play DUST since they killed that too.

Does seem real scummy I bought clothes I can’t see anymore. It’s pretty silly, too, they felt the need to perform maintenance on it - they could have removed the ability to see the ship hangar inside the CQ, since that wasn’t exactly a feature and was, according to the post, most of the maintenance. They won’t, though. They’ve at least been forthcoming on the topic that they don’t care about avatar features, so no need to get your hopes up.

Seems silly that after several years and a continuing monthly sub, this is why I uninstalled. I know I wasn’t a real player, no matter the money I spent or the lore I learned. But, uhh, that’s the sum of it. It’s a fun game for many people, with or without the silly CQ that was time-intensive, but it’s not for me.

I do hope they bring it back, though.

As a sidenote - it’s strange back during the summer of rage, they said they were still investigating and developing WiS, and then went quiet on it for years with no confirmation or denial. It’s nice to finally know for sure it’s not happening, but maybe they should reconsider a several year silence on any development matter.

It seems such a shame to see the Captains Quarters go after this, not to mention all the effort and hype that was put into the New Eden Store (NES). As many others have voiced there is not real way to view or show off the cosmetic items you purchased with your in money.

Now I never really enjoyed EVE itself but this really reminds me of how things went down with DUST 514 toward the end. Yes there were some mix ups with the spread of information here and there but the general idea was that players were encouraged to spend money on Skill Boosters and AURUM items right up until the moment it was announced that there would be no more development on it.

Announced some time ago or not this seems like a really cheeky move since both my own, and others , investments into cosmetic items for my character have been essentially devalued.

They’re still there… but the utility you can get from them is arguably now gone.

bring back what? I have no idea what CQ means.

okay okay, I know what CQ is, But from what I’ve seen various devs say it would be easier to just blow the whole thing up and rebuild it, if they ever actually wanted to do something with it. Sounded like the maintenance on the old CQ is just a pain the the arse, I can’t blame them for canning it at all, and honestly I almost never used it.

I really hope you’re right about that.

Not sure why I’m posting in here, but I’m going to do it anyway.

Okay, the ā€œEVE: Universeā€ art book shows concepts of Incarna and says that ā€œmaybe they’ll come back in another game in the futureā€.

In the DevBlog about removing CQ, they mentioned that removing the CQ and all the code associated with it is the only way they would be able to further develop the feature, implying that might still be a possibility in the future.

Captain’s Quarters were a useless waste of development time that were barely worth it just for the eye candy. Let’s just let CCP throw them out and maybe replace them with something better in the future.
