BRUCE Mining School Program

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Don’t teach a man how to fish and you feed yourself. He’s a grown man, fishing’s not that hard.

That is what we call the Robin Hood Effect. When given the chance, people will sacrifice their own wealth to punish the rich and help the poor. We call upon our inner Robin Hoods to promote freedom and justice, although our motives are not always pure.

No animal on Earth can top humans when it comes to altruism. People sacrifice their resources, money, food, and even internal organs, for no personal profit. We’re also the best when it comes to punishing what we view as injustices.

@Angewoman sounds like the ancient pharaohs of Egypt, do you plan to be buried with your wealth?

Have fun!

I think you have me wrong. We stole from the rich. (Null blks) and gave to the poor. (Us) Nothing noble about it. Just brutal fun!

Missed that bit eh?

I handed out 3 more ships just now, it is getting a bit more easier to do. I also took a newcomer aside and instructed them on dscan. No training stories to tell here, I know they must be in need of instruction.

There has been some concern about our base being located in the Tsuguwa system, far away from Amarr. To avoid long trips I asked Skylar Cloud to set up some ships at the Amarr trade hub. Skylar has some fully fitted newcomer Ventures located there, in the event a player cannot make the journey to our station.

Skylar informed me she will be in the area, when these ships need an owner.

The other night I was in rookie chat and announced the offer for free miner ships for 30 day players. I was told by another player in chat not to recruit, when I sent the next line explaining the free ship programs, they retorted there should be no exceptions to the rules because it takes precious time from people who need help. I might actually have accepted this as a decent argument on their behalf, except there was nothing but random chat, no ISD present, and people were eating each other alive. I seriously doubt one line is going to have that large of an impact. More to the point, less would have been said, if they hadn’t started to debate the chat rules with me. The crowd wasn’t interested in free mining ships, they seemed more interested in fighting with each other. Having an ISD present is always a good idea.

As always, stay alert and mine safe. :pick:

BRUCE is NOT recruiting at this time.

I will do my best to explain this here. My corp was created for 3 live players who are friends living in the same block together. We see each other face to face often enough to not communicate much in the game. Many times we will pick up a phone and say, “Hey, can you get online?” or “When can you drop by?”. Two of us are retired and one still works and sometime travels abroad.

Joining BRUCE would not benefit the new player at all. We give help when available. We gift ships for mining purposes not PvP. You would be better off to join a corporation with numbers, active members, and there are plenty of alpha mining corps who desire you to join them. We are not saying, you are not good enough for BRUCE. We are not a good fit for your needs.

Many people assume we are using this free ship program to recruit members. Others asked what they would have to do for us, after getting a free ship. There is no hook, no hidden agenda, we simply desire to help the new people over some bumps on the road, that make others give up too quickly.

Stay alert and mine safe o7
