Need to balance out those whino threads so here it is – thanks CCP for the incredible Omega discount at the NES. It was more than hoped for. I feel a little bad, as I’m now paying less than usual, but I did activate a second account, so that makes up some.
Also happy with the Perseverance BPC and I’m glad this is available for a limited time from an event. I personally think we need more these types of affordable limited edition ships in the game. Like Leopard, Interbus Shuttle, etc. And now Perseverance. I know it’s not something you can put out at every event, but this reward was worth it. I’m not motivated to participate in the events for SKIN and personalization thingies, nor for skill points. A limited-edition ship available just from the event though, that is worthwhile. At the end of the day spaceships are the most integral part of this game.
I’m also happy with the 50% discount at Paragon Hub, so thanks for that as well.
And the snow and the high sec nebulae are beautiful! I remember when they were first added to the game, and the results are still some of the most beautiful visuals. Especially Domain and Kor-Azor regions, but all of them really.
However, I am disappointed that Your Year in EVE personal videos seem to be completely discontinued now, though I hope you will reconsider introducing them again next year. Those videos gave us stats that we can’t have from anywhere else (technically, we can count our stargate jumps and systems visited, etc ourselves, but nobody is realistically gonna do it) and the videos are fitting for an end of the year event. It also feels like you’re paying personal attention to your playerbase when you release those videos and that goes a long way in helping players feel more attached to the game. It’s a type of thing where the outcome is greater than the sum of its parts.
All in all there was a good holiday feeling in the game during December. I’ve been here since 2009 and considering I am not the type of guy to play video games at all, it means EVE truly is exceptional. It does not feel like a game, but a parallel reality.
Have a Happy New Year!
