I have been away for a long time and need help, thanks. Need to see if i can provide pirates in low sec with battlecruisers with less risk.
There are no coverts that can do this, you could slap a cloak on bigger hauler or even an Orca but that’s about it.
figured thanks
If you have a station available at the target location, you can haul a BPC and compressed ores, which allows you to move up to 5 “Battlecruisers” in a Cloakhauler. You just have to build them right there.
This comes in handy if you plan ahead and the destination is a WH you live in, LowSec- or HighSec-Island-system with an NPC station. So you might want a cloakhauler for safe transport but can live with the delay of needing to build the Ship(s) there (around 2 hours for a BC). You even can get the fittings, rigs, ammo etc… into the same hauler (reducing max ships to 4).
Orca is your beast. Cloak+MWD works (although requires special attention). Can carry multiple BCs (assembled in SMB, packaged in cargo and Fleet Hangar). Carries ores to build multiple more BCs. Cargo/fleet has room to carry many fittings if needed. Can carry own scout (assembled/fitted) in SMB to scout ahead (if you don’t have an alt account to do so). Multipurpose for mining, shipping, WH operations.
All usual disclaimers apply. Practice Cloak+WMD in high sec while empty and tanked. Don’t carry so much value as to be juicy gank target. Travel at low times. Set safe and dock/undock bookmarks ahead of time. Be prepared to alter plan if anything seems fishy en route. Etc.
omg you are so out of your environment, do not think you will simply trespass and be successful in selling random stuff nobody asked for
have occurred to you that you should simply ask the locals what/how/where they want the stuff to delivered ? they are probably paying hauler to jump freight everything they need or they have their own jump freighters all set already
you ca still cloak trick the battlecruisers and pray very hard
Depending on how many BC hulls you’re looking to move at once, I’d probably recommend a DST with a cloak and MWD. Fully trained, you’ve got 62500m3 in the fleet hangar (enough to carry about four packaged BCs) and another 5000m3 in the cargo. Cloak+MWD is easy enough to do as well, and you can tank it to around 90K+ EHP. All for the low, low price of 300m.
Obviously, an Orca can carry a lot more, but at 7x the price it’s also a juicier (and slower) target. Also, with an Orca, cloak+MWD requires overheating your MWD to work. It’s an added step in the dance, and if you fumble the maneuver or something decloaks you, you’re more or less boned. Still though, if you’ve trained Thermodynamics, you can go a couple dozen jumps before you’ve likely burned up your mods.
Personally, I wouldn’t fly an Orca for lowsec hauling. I have and would fly a DST for that.
EDIT to add: now that I think about it, the Orca can carry more—but not a lot more, actually. Between the 30km3 cargo and the 40km3 fleet hangar, you’ve only got 2500m3 more than a DST’s cargo and fleet. Training to L5 will increase the cargo hold some, but tanking with transverse bulkheads will just lower it again. If you tank it like tissue paper, I think you can bump cargo to 90km3 or so, but there are probably better ways to lose 2b+ ISK. You also can’t put packaged ships in the 400km3 maintenance bay, so its usefulness is limited. I don’t think you could even fit two assembled BCs in there.
EDIT 2: Note, I’m only thinking in terms of hauling packaged ships. If you’re talking about building onsite, I’ll leave it to someone else to figure out how many BCs you can build with 187500m3 (at L5) of compressed ore in the mining hold. I still wouldn’t fly the fat bastard through lowsec though.
I have made a trillion ISK trading in the EVE market. Forgotten more about the EVE market than most players will ever know.
I have not logged in since 2016 and simply was asking if a cloaking ship could carry a BC because I’m too lazy to check, its no reflection of my market knowledge, just laziness.
Nothing with a covert ops cloak…
