Can we define “meaningful”

:no_mouth:

Born in 2009, can’t tell the difference between HiSec and Null… :smirk:

Meaningful, like value, is entirely subjective and varies with each individual.

Why is this even a debate? It is like arguing which dessert is best.

I get the impression that this is a think of the children and gankbear post rolled into I want a theme park for your own gameplay needs.

Quite frankly that is a ridiculous suggestion as hisec is not separate from the rest of Eve.

So in a nutshell what you define as meaningful is for other hisec players to be cannon fodder for your own insipid low energy play.

Perhaps you should create a server with that version of Eve and sit there with no one else playing it? The meaningful play being of course all based around not being can flipped by Mo…

There are several obvious possible explanations. Someone with a full array of Pennae volatus or less inclination to argumentum ad hominen would have assumed the most likely one, and felt no need to comment.

It’s typically you for not actually listing any of these obvious explanations.

Why would I spend time on someone who’s not even smart or honest enough to come up with a decent insult?

You’re an exception because stalkers are fun: little floppy-eared puppies jumping out of hiding and biting my ankles, then looking disappointed when it has no effect. I think it’s cute - and if you practice enough and grow some real teeth, one day you’ll learn to kill your own food.

Where is your face?

I don’t remember how/why Elena became faceless. It’s entirely possible she’s never logged on to EVE, and never went through any form of character customization.

The low energy, stale, and uninteractive state I perceive in Eve must all be in my head?

And I’m proposing essentially the mechanics we had when Eve had 60,000 concurrent users… but kinder and softer… for you and your safety seeking ilk.

Everyone is actually interacting and having a blast. Meaningful interactions abound…

Hmm. Unnecessary post then…

But won’t you just think of the children!!!

Sorry, I understand that you had a lot of fun with that and you want it back, but I for one did not jet can mine. But while you had fun I remember mining players hating this mechanic, I also remember when all the mining ships had the tank of a wet paper bag and died if you sneezed on them that Baltec1 had a lot of fun blowing them up no matter what they did.

The objective is not to work from dead certitude, Baltec1 liked the fact that people bling fitted their mining ships for extra EHP which he was easily able to blow up and make ISK from.

However do you honestly think that restricting people to boring and more time intensive mining will entice people to play and be your prey. And you apply that in hisec where mining is already low return.

The interactions you are talking about is what is happening here and now with Rorquals in nullsec. It has just moved on a notch.

As for hisec it is there in terms of Raitaru’s and Athanors that do give those that are able to stand up for them extra rewards.

Mining is now afk.

I mean, literally… a venture mines for 15 minutes between clicks.

There is no reason to work together at all.

Now, I know you’re writing a book about booger’s and afk mining works for you… but who the hell wants to join a game that is played afk?

And with no obstacles or obvious interactions?

You say that but I have to keep an eye on it because the roids run out fast, you cannot mine ore AFK, ice maybe.

That is not the issue, in hisec the roids get sucked dry rather quickly at times.

Except that there is, people do have a boosting ships on field, they also use industrials or freighters to move ore back to the station. There is a still a certain level of that, though most of that is multi-boxers.

Semi-observant is what I would call it. I am most certainly not AFK.

You think so, well I use a Skiff to be hard to kill reducing my yield, I will use Augumented drones from my Orca but will pull them in when others are in system and put out T2’s instead. No obstacles and no interactions? I create that by using ships that are difficult to blow up. I am toying with having a Hulk in the bay of my Orca and switching between that and the Skiff.

It is all relative to what one does and thinks.

Think of the children, Drav. You heartless bastard…

o7 Still the Athanors in 0.5 systems are also the step up, you should look into that aspect.

I’m one of those players who just can’t handle that kind of white-knuckle, heart pumping action.

Thanks for the invite.

I don’t understand why you hate children.

In a good restaurant where parents don’t keep their little dears under control I hate children, but I hate their parents more… :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t allow all that hate to define you, Drav. You don’t have to live like this.

Your angst is so clear in your writing, your playstyle.

I’m worried about you.

When you truly believe this then do give me all your ISKs and ships. I’ll happily take everything that isn’t of meaning to you.

Thanks in advance.
