Okay so allow me not share a little secret story about Jorge.
He had been spade neutered at an adult age feline. Yet he sill sometimes tris to hump my arm while I am in bed awake and had setbout two bowled of dry biscuits for both George & Jorge
That doesn’t work! She stills comes inside and goes, then goes back out no matter how hard I tried.

Zaera though prefers black cats .

I have 2 cats. one I bought 2 years ago, the other is his buddy the stray who was born in the backyard last summer. I never raised the indoor cat to use kitty litter. Clay litter is a joke on both you and your cat. I buy a bag of Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss, no chemicals are added, looks like dry dirt.
In my area this runs about $25 per bag. One bag goes a long way.
I place this in my living room in a large cardboard box and no one has once complained of any odor. I do smell him before he get it buried but a little spray air or a candle works. Meanwhile his pal comes indoors to play with him and returns outside by calling me to the back door. He has examined the litter box but I think he refrains from using it, probably out of respect of territorial markers.
Now if you really want a challenge, teach your cat to do this.
I would myself, but water and sewer bill, I am thinking of joining his stray buddy in the backyard.

Zaera’s paid nothing for her cat . It was her sister’s but chose Zaera.
