Well, they can afford to fly them because they have a get-out-of-jail-free card.
It’s an issue because they’re not supposed to use that power against the regular players and had I known that they couldn’t be trusted with that power I would’ve never started playing, ever.

Basically, he still failed at one of the most core rules of EVE. Since it’s staff involved… That says something about CCP’s ability to understand their own game.
CCP GM’s are only allowed to spawn ships in RP related events. They are not allowed to spawn ships for their own fun. That Erebus must have been an inherited one from the days they were players. So no wonder he didn’t want to lose it. That is why he was flying it in high-sec in the first place.
If it was Adrian Vexer at the helm I would have scanned his fit with my main and Tipa would have murdered his Erebus in the most humiliating way possible.
