You’ve simply gotten confused here. CCP is not in the business of limited edition assets. CCP is in the business of marketing IP-related materials to a limited fanbase, and they try a number of ways to get those fans to open their wallets. One of those ways is setting up the “this is a one-time deal, you’ll miss out forever if you don’t buy now” sca… er, sale.
CCP breaks their promises when they choose to, and they don’t really care, because very few of the incoming dollars go away when they break their promises.
You have to read all of CCP’s promises and limits as having the little * beside them, which reads:
It is an honour to entertain an esteemed person such as yourself.
I’m ever so afraid there might be one little - and of course only one - tiny, eensy-weensy misunderstanding on your part; Acknowledging that in general corporations cannot be trusted does not equal “supporting limited edition scamming” nor any other not-so-cool thing corporations might do.
Seems pretty simple to me and frankly it’s a bit surprising anybody would choose not to see that…but ok, w/e…
Corporations in general have done a lot worse things than mess around with virtual items in their video games…but if that’s strangely the hill you choose to fight for…then long may you hold it against reality I guess. o7
Yes…because people saying “yeah, that’s how corporations often do things” is somehow vehemently defending ccp…
I certainly wouldn’t want to assume your position. Might you be so kind as to enlighten us unwashed plebs as to why?
Well @Twijn_Sunz …you were the one who said a forum users number of posts they have created indicated something significant…if you don’t want to talk about what you were talking about, then ok, your choice I suppose.
You have made 3 topics in your 11 days on the forums. \o/ Even though one of them was locked for being a double-post, still that might indicate you are well on your way to becoming a prolific topic creator!
Probably many reasons people make topics on forums, eh? Thoughts on a particular subject, of course, informing, asking something, RP, ERP, complaining about ganking, something they find interesting, complaining about something, buy/sell stuff, recruiting, more complaining, etc etc etc.
Among the many there seem to be those who create a lot of Dunning-Kruger influenced topics. Certainly that won’t include you, I’m sure.
They also use absolute silence as their best and most potent weapon. Just ignore us, and we go away, and business can continue as usual.
I want everyone to understand me clearly, and distinctly. The heart and spirit of this thread is the annunciated resistance to these harmful practices. There must be a voice heard.
You can’t hold players from buying whatever they want, regardless of whether they know or not that CCP’s decision-making is as changing as a weathervane.
There won’t be any “resistance” movement so don’t start buying the torches and pitchforks just yet.
Your thread is that voice, we heard it. Thank you.
Because this forum is populated mostly by alts and trolls. There’s nothing serious in this forum, just trolls who love salt. Don’t take anything and anyone in this forum seriously.
