It depends if the amount of omega players they get is worth the extra costs they need to make to allow you to play EVE on Linux.
Then stop paying. Thatâs simple too.
Sure, but I would rather be able to play and pay.
Youâre not a second class underspecies, but you may be a loss to CCP because of your uncommon choice of OS.
Hypothetically if CCP can make more money by not offering Linux support, why should they offer Linux support? Theyâre not charity.
I would also rather a lot of things but I remember that song âYou canât always get what you wantâ. I listen to it when I feel entitled.
You act like I am expecting something free, whilst itâs not officially supported, I am still a paying customer, if they donât want that situation, then they should ACTIVELY BLOCK LINUX USERS (looks like that may come by basically letting it become problematic and die).
They stated they wonât âbanâ you for connecting from Linux and the suppot is âunofficialâ so they basically take your money and itâs âlife supportâ, and âat willâ.
So they like your money, but⌠they like your money. Will they like it enough to miss it?
Why should they actively block Linux players? That requires action, which isnât free, and in case one Linux player manages to get it to work it would be extra income for CCP.
No, they know from the logs who uses WINE, Mac native no longer uses wine.
Any WINE user is Linux.
Simply block that connection.
Yes, and?
If someone wants to pay CCP, theyâre free to do so.
No reason to block potential customers.
Any WHINE user is Linux.
No reason to put effort into getting those customerâs money then such as Linux support and/or native client?
Variants of this argument seem to come up a lot.
If you donât like x, then donât y.
Nobody is forcing you to do z.
That is tant amount to values based cowardice.
I was wondering if youâd like some cheese with that WINE.
