To be honest I bought more stuff with plex and real money when the fights where great and had tons of friends always logged in, because It felt like I was investing in something.

Spending money now feels like a waste, I don’t see a future in eve atm unless some drastic changes come in to low sec making my friends play a lot more often again.

i will tell you some motives i don’t like the slow warping idea

  1. curse, its super used , you cant see on DSCAM they fit 400 milion fit, if he land a scram on the usual 100/50 milion fw cruiser fit = dead
  2. out of system bait , some times you fight one , other enter the system… if you kill fast and bail maybe you survive , if not , dead
    3 ) out of dscam bait , same , some times you know it , but you think ill kill the first mofo and GTFO

i see why you think about it , the farmers farm because no one can get them but i think a slow warp change will be abused by large and lazy risk averted people

Fair enough t2 ships don’t really fit well inside plex’s as their extra resi only scales well with logi and logi mostly means blobbing :smiley: and obv no t3 is great as well that alone will bring a lot more balance to the force.

What you think the guns in Star Citizen don’t track when they shoot every few seconds? We should start a different post for this or they will delete it. I would love to shoot the ■■■■ with yea about what EVE 2 should have in it.

All of these.

At the highest tier a novice site rewards roughly 32mil (depending on conversion rate) and realistically takes 12mins to capture with a tech 1 frig.

And at the lowest tier (usually the losing side) gets roughly 5mil for the same site and work.

As you can see there is a huge incentive to have characters in various militias and simply stop playing on the losing side and play characters on the winning side.

It was barely a token pass. So not much changed.

Instead of stabs, players/bots just warp out when an unknown reaches ~1au on d-scan.

Would hit small gang and solo pretty hard because they can’t refuse fights from blobs.

Normally i wouldn’t care, but FW has a really good solo/small gang culture that we should try to retain.

It is in the gal/caldari side.

The largest gallente alliance moved to null because they got tired of dominating the warzone and wanted more. And the main caldari alliance also moved to null late 2020 because they were bored of having no one to fight but the 2nd largest gallente alliance and their null ‘capital blobster’ friends.

The farming is getting ridiculous when pirate frigs and destroyers are running from tech1 frigs.

Not necessarily . I never was a fan of “we need an FC to have fun and create content for us” . In all of my Eve PvP career I’ve flown solo or in small gangs with experienced pilots that could easily FC if needed , but there never was the need for it, everyone knew what to do , their role and tactics, everything was fluent in battle and went smoothly , sometimes we didn’t even had to talk or call a primary . I like to go out there and create my own content solo, or with a couple of other pilots.
Also being a starter in PvP and always having an FC to hold your hand , tell you what to do and what to shoot … will not get you so far .
You are entitled to have a different opinion , this is ok , but for me an FC was never my cup of tea.

The whole point of FW is that you don’t need fc’s to get people out in space that is more null culture.

CCP may have catered to farmer trash in the past, but that’s not what they’re currently doing. In fact, they’ve been doing a lot to piss the farmers off recently, and (mostly) keep moving forward.

I’d bet my left nut that they would actually like to fix FW; so I assume the problem is that they’re not entirely certain how to do it. After all, this is an extremely complicated game design problem. In fact, let’s take a look at OP’s suggestions. It might make the farmers move on to more lucrative activities, but I’m not so sure that it will increase content availability in FW. In fact, it might even make it drop below a social critical mass. (And, on a side note, the penalty for changing factions is easily circumvented by having an alt.)

I’m not going to pretend like I know how to fix faction warfare, because I don’t. However, I will say this -incremental changes are probably not the way to turn things around. Even if you’re one of the people that believe that FW mechanics are in a better state than they were 2 or so years ago, it doesn’t matter if you can’t find content. Thus, CCP probably needs to do a Jesus feature sized update that can get people excited to get into/get back into FW.

And to tutucox:
I’m also not so sure that getting rid of the farmers is the way to go. I know a lot of people prefer gud fights, but killing farmers is still content (and some people still enjoy it). Thus, I agree with Destiny and others that think that farmers should be easier to catch. In other words, they shouldn’t be able to use inexpensive, slippery ships to make truck loads of cash. Instead, they should have to put slower, more expensive ships on the line.

I agree with you completely, but there is a solution they just have to change 3 things and advertise it as a massive FW patch that gets everyone excited for FW. That alone will be enough to get enough people joining, then the players themselves will make tons of content sustaining its future.

  1. Overhaul to the tier system so that both sides feel join-able at the same time putting both in space at the same time increasing friction. (hopefully removing this horrible swing mechanic where people play both sides.)

  2. As you say make combat plex’s require a decently fit pvp ship to run so that ship’s inside can’t afford to overload on inertia stabs.

  3. Limit the plex’s to T1, faction and pirate ship’s as mentioned above by op.

A bonus would be obviously redoing the lp store, some things are just silly like building a single faction cruiser gun for 100 - 250mil. At most I could see faction med guns being bought for 25-30mil each (maybe only costing 18mil in building materials before lp). (but obviously that is a lot of work.)

Would also be nice if bounty modifier’s for systems worked on lp too so that it made it worth while to fight in the more dangerous systems compared to the quieter one’s. I don’t think anyone actually farms bounty in low seems a bit weird.
