I have seen people complaining about EVE and its issues, I have done it myself. I would love to see a PvE only version of EVE but after the events of the past few months in the gaming industry, there are bigger potencial threats to EVE. After seeing what effect a consuliting company like Sweet Baby Inc can have on a game, it occured to me that one stupid consulting firn can takedown any game in such a bad way amd so quickly. I mean even look at what the “localization” of Crunchyroll did to anime. The lore (story) and localization of a game done by the wrong people can ruine the whole game experience.
Please CCP make good descisions when it comes to consultants. Gameplay and content issues can be solved by your own devs. The efect of a bad consulting firm like Sweet Baby Inc can kill your business completely.
Sweet Baby Inc. promotes safer working environments and diverse representation within game narratives and studios according to wikipedia which sounds good to me. Not sure how anyone could disagree something like that.
Maybe you should ask Disney and Budweiser how they’re enjoying their DEI initiatives.
It’s also pretty funny how the diversity obsessed ultimately end up with less diversity due to their obsessant need to control everything.
If you function on a meritocracy, and have a driving goal of delivering good product or service, you will ultimately end up with more diversity than if you artificially try to shoehorn it into places it doesn’t belong.
You should never judge a company on what they say about themselves but rather what they actually do. Actions speak louder than words. Besides that people that actually play video games don’t want that in their games. Its a fantasy world inside the game, it is not real life and don’t need to reflect that. Game companies should stop tying to cater to very few people opinions of which most of them don’t even play video games. Maybe you should have a look at the Twitter quotes made by the CEO and employees at Sweet Baby Inc and their real opinions. As for “safer working environments and diverse representation” it is more like “discriminating working environments and divisive representation”.

That means you have to turn everything on its head:

It’s okay, there are other companies that can do it too. You’re not going to be able to opt out of enrichment, just like we can’t opt out of your grief PvP.
Considering that CCP has already implemented special rules against typical EVE behavior in events (pulling NPCs away from the warp in the Gate Construction event was declared an exploit) and tried to implement population cap in PVE sites that effectively prevent interference by other players, I would never say never when it comes to dumb decisions from CCP.
Sweet Baby’s business model is to essentially blackmail companies into hiring them (this directly from Sweet Baby’s CEO at a keynote). DEI is a flash in the pan and will die a horrible death along with all the other woke endeavours.
I DMed them from a few different accounts asking them to solicit CCP, and pointed out how the game has a lot of systemic oppression by armed thugs against the working class, and even glorifies chattel slavery and racial discrimination in its story, where a white faction is abusing and genociding a black faction, and even the former’s tech is portrayed to be much superior to that of the latter. I’m sure they’re going to have a field day when they find out that the game is made by a bunch of snow-white nords. We’ll see what happens!
