CCP Please Stop Destroying EVE

Remember when they’ve talked about, and implemented, a temporary scarcity to figure out more?
They’ve made it permanent! It seems barely anyone noticed the announcement!

More changes are yet to come!

I know null anoms got nerfed. But i remember them saying they were taking normal ore out of high-sec moon belts. I took that to mean non-moon ore, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Instead i have seen this:

NO MOON MINING CHANGES, FOR NOW

As Imperium FC Dirk Stetille noted, “the most glaring part is the thing that they didn’t do.” The much discussed and anxiously awaited nerf to moon mining was not part of this update. Unless and until we hear otherwise from CCP, it is safe to assume these changes are still to come, but they did not arrive with this update as expected.

If anything has changed since i haven’t noticed.

Maybe it’s me, but I’m wondering if we’re on the same page.

“People REEING over mineral shortage”. Even highseccers complained,
we had some of those on the forum too. It’s not just nullseccers.

In fact, highseccers have been complaining for months,
but it’s not apparent that they’re complaining about scarcity
when they’re complaining about NPC miners.

It’s also not apparent that they’re complaining about scarcity …
… when they complain about a lack of roids in highsec …
… when everyone believes that all those who complain are near trade hubs.

Statistically speaking that’s rather unlikely.

The devblog linked in the INN article mentions the above.

In march they’ve reduced mining efficiency of NPC Miners …
image
… and I want you to take a good guess why they needed to do that.

Here you can see someone noticing what CCP Ratatatata said.

image

Which means that there’s no “re-distribution” phase and that the “temporary” was just as “temporary” as every other “temporary” when it’s coming from high ranking politicians, which CCP need to be considered as. Funny how that works … again and again and again and again. : - )

You’re probably unintentionally making the mistake everyone does,
which is not seeing the whole picture at once. That’s fair, it’s hard.

For over a decade people have been told to spread out, away from trade hubs, to find ore. So people did and mined that ore. You think that ore is magically fully replenishing every day? Of course not. So more people had to spread out even further to find ore. Luckily, of course, there’s enough belts to compensate. If there had been an inbalance, they would have adjusted it.

So with that in mind, remember that eventually we got NPC miners cleaning even more belts away from trade hubs. Now they had to lower their efficiency, because apparently they were mining too much. They didn’t mine too much before, but now they do, because there’s a lack of roids.

Considering that the average amount of idiots mining isn’t significantly decreasing over time, especially thanks to all the assholes who send new players into mining careers, I’m not sure how anyone could suggest that there isn’t already a scarcity in highsec, of which we’re simply not yet seeing the actual economic effects. Yet.

We’re already deep in it, but no one’s noticing.

Yet.

And it’s going to get better/worse,
because - as you know -
this is coming:

You’re not someone who I would have doubt about being able to figure out that the market changes are a necessary complement to the mining changes. Despite what CCP is telling you, these two are connected. They just don’t want to tell us, because they either believe that people are too stupid anyway (about which they’d be mostly correct) or because they fear a certain part of their current customerbase would be panicking and quitting if they figured out what’s going to come for them.

For people like yourself, myself, Pedro, Salt FoamBraker, Jonah and many others it’s going to be fine. In fact, my predictometer points at Glorious!

But for the farmers, the casuals, the carebears …
… the afk players, the disney princes and princesses …
… the iwannafeelgood-losers and escapists …

haha … hahahahaha …
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

They’ve already begun noticing that they’re getting ■■■■■■ …
… and CCP’s gonna remove the lube too, eventually. : - )

And they’re not just getting ■■■■■■ in respect to mining.
They’re getting ■■■■■■ in other aspects as well.
Just look at the FW changes.

I’ve predicted that mining will become a major competitive thing years ago.
I think the first time I’ve talked about it was in 2017? I don’t remember exactly.
The corp I’m in is the result of that of which I knew was coming.

Took 'em long enough to prove me right. : p

No, it means you and everyone else misunderstood what was temporary.
The concept of a ‘shortage’ phase was temporary, that doesn’t mean that all changes which occur during that phase will be equally temporary.
Remember there are other changes still to come alongside this which may or may not also be temporary and at the end of the phase other additions can also be made.

CCP just do these things to see us dance on the forums.

Any concept of secrecy to make finding out stuff is so weak by now its unreal.

@CCP_Aurora, why DOES CCP rarely if ever explain why things happen? Or the actual intentions? Or even just end arguments about why such and such is the way it is?

I remember once a comparison between EvE and That Other MMO People Here Mention, and the difference was cited as in That Game, people pray to the Gods of Dev to make changes etc, but EvE has no Gods so prayers go unheard. So whats with the mysterious ways?

Just a cursory glance at the forums would tell anyone that the worst threaeds are the one debating the definition of the word “the”. CCP’s definition shouldbe the only one that counts, right? So why leave us to fight about it?

So the scarcity phase hasn’t really kicked in yet which is what i thought.

Where i mine i don’t get kernite and pyrox. I do get omber but skip it because of it’s terrible value. So i have yet to feel the pinch…

Is there a pandemic, when no one has any symptoms?
Does the pandemic start when the first people begin showing symptoms?

Interesting questions!

I don’t know about omber. I’m still totally disconnected.
What I do know, though, is that current prices are relatively meaningless.

Back at the first triglavian mining event, CCP introduced two types of ores. A high yield one and a low yield one. Back then I suggested to Pedro to mine the higher yield ore so we have a stack for next time, because they won’t be spwaning it at the next mining event.

Guess what?
They didn’t!

We made 18 billion ISK profit from his small mining fleet mining for two hours.

I don’t know about omber, but I do know that the current value shouldn’t be influencing your decision making process too much. I guess what I’m trying to say is:

Right now is the time to mine for a future potential value, not for the present value.

I need to ask Pedro about recruiting …

Uh wtf are you on. CCP isn’t taking advantage of anything here.

I just started this game, and I have to say that unnecessary aggression is the best part, both giving it and trying not to get it. I understand if you don’t like it, but the danger in this game makes it different and special. If that changed, I don’t think I would stay…

Absolutely not…

As a carebear, I love the feeling of dread having to go to low and null. It’s part of the excitement of the game

Baa if anything gate gun’s track too well, which deters frigates from aggression there.

That’s not the reason why I am the way I am. Plus, that loss was due to ignorance on game mechanics. Regardless, I am the way I am because I have seen, for years, on this site and others, where people complain about things and toxic people come on with their shitty attitudes and it puts people off and away from the game. Funny, the types like the guy who got lucky in ganking my orca are the types of players that kill this game.

That’s eve /shrug

I’ve lost billion isk ships to ganking. That’s the game. You can play other games too

Sure, but they suck at killing Eve, they been trying for 17 years now.

Lmao. Another one!

deleted post… wrong thread

What makes you think it was luck? It was skill and you making mistakes that allowed it to happen.

What has been killing the game, if anything, is CCP making changes to accommodate people like you.

The new eve is awesome. HOPEFULLY they make pvp optional in low and null sec. YOU’RE ON TARGET CCP, keep up the good work!

PVP already is optional. You don’t have to undock.

Well there were times when you were stopped by the authorities on the gate smuggling illegal stuff and had been given 30 seconds to drop your contraband or be destroyed…today this is gone…

THIS kind of game should come back…
