CCP rules discussion on ganking and CONCORD mechanics - 2021.11.06

just 10 minutes after posting that link here, people have shown how icecream is wrong and his interpretation of the rules can provide an advantage for miners and haulers.

Take even miners out of it.

Just spawn CONCORD on gate in Uedama and you can continue to move them around to shorten the response time and gankers can do nothing to change that.

AG can viably now just create instant CONCORD response.

They could do it before, but now they know it’s green light from CCP.

but if a miner spawns concord in his mining belt for protection, wouldn’t that delay concord somewhere else in the system?
mind-blow-galaxy

It’s the intend of the spawner of course.

Yeah, they can do it viably now, where before gankers could counter it.

That ability to counter it is removed.

Both could previously move CONCORD.

Now that’s not the case.

I like how this can be exploited in so many ways.

Like for example, find a group of gankers you dislike, go to their location, pull CONCORD with a throwaway alt, and say in local that you did it “just like you asked so that CONCORD arrives slower on your next gank” or something like that. Then petition it on a different character and get everyone banned.

Need to use a proxy/VMs to protect your main accounts, but I can’t really think of any other instances in which you can exploit a GM policy to get someone else banned without their input. Well, not one in the last 10 years or so at least.

Why would we do that? The gankers do it themselves.

Haulers make 60 free alts. move all to Uedama. they simultaneously warp to the Sivala, Ikao and Juuni gates. they shoot at the gates and spawn CONCORD for 20 ships on each gate. they dock up and log off for the day. now Uedama is the safest system to go through in all of new eden. instant concord at the gates. and if a ganker pulls concord, report him and get him banned.
well done, ccp!

As a hauler, I’m definitely going to start using it with several of my cyno alts.

By spawning CONCORD on my in gate to Uedama, I can make it even harder to successfully gank my freighter.

I’d be stupid not to do it.

that is so sneaky and evil! only a deamon like you could think of something like that!

Uedama just got a whole lot boring. rip @Jason_Kusion , @Bob_Painter and @Aiko_Danuja ! I hope you successfully find other jobs!

I’m just doing my part by fighting the good fight for miners and mission-runners everywhere. The sooner we get all the gankers banned, the sooner this game can have 100,000 players.

lol! @Aiko_Danuja is going to flip out when she sees this! goodbye, gankers! nice knowing ya!

Ganking still works, you just need to make different calculations.

Kusion and Painter are not currently ganking in Uedama for a start. Their main focus is Jita where it will make no difference at all as time is very tight anyway.

Aiko does roaming ganks all over the place and the impact will be very limited for her play style if at all.

This thread is getting even more silly.

Still there are some gems in here:

I think that is an excellent post.

There is only one spawn per system, you have to choose the gate/location, can’t have them on each. Else we would not have this discussion.

Usually they fix exploits and the notification is just there in the time from the discovery of an actual bug until it can get fixed.

But they didn’t. Why would they leave this in the game and let it be exploited for years if they actually considered this an exploit?

No, this isn’t clear at all.

And “intention” isn’t something they can police. If I remove a Venture from a belt and that pulled the CONCORD spawn from a belt with a Hulk I gank 15min later, was my “intention” ganking that Venture or pulling CONCORD away from the actual target?
