Oh suuure only highsec players have quit.People quit everywhere for different reasons.
Alot of people didn’t like addition of injectors so they quit others didn’t like f2p so they quit others simply didn’t have friends left playing so they quit.CCP brings and maintains less players than they lose cuz the player population is getting old
People comes and goes, but there’s less people in highsec, less people in game and more people in null. Wormholes have always been a small niche and lowsec has always been a barren so it’s difficult to estimate what has their population done. But since the oveall population has shrinked, probably low and WH also have taken a hit, both from people moving to null and people leaving the game.
Wormholes haven’t fared any better since anyone trying to establish in ac5 for example gets evicted by the other few groups who don’t want any competition.
Null has grown a bit maybe altho it’s hard to tell since people are more condensed in few groups now than being in more mid tier alliances spread out several years back.
Not to derail, but players/Corps are packed shoulder to shoulder like sardines in LS, due to how narrow/small the sector is as wedged in between HS/NS.
I dont have stats, but Id expect LS has most players per system, in proportion.
I am talking about average population per system, it’s not as easy as noticing that Osmon local in high has gone from 100-115 to 75-85 on EU prime time (Osmon is the only highsec source for SoE probes and launchers AND a mission running hub AND a ice mining hub, thus its population is a good indicator of the game average… and matches quite well the PCU data).
Some people like to mine, and one can argue that their risk when mining in Coveters, Hulks, Retreivers and Mackinaws in hisec is actually greater than those who mine in Rroqual’s in nullsec and the rewards are a lot less. One to two hours mining in a Rorqual and you have easily covered the hull, ten to twenty hours mining and you have covered the fitting and drones. EDIT: This is incorrect, the player I was basing it on was using four Rorquals, so it is 8 hours for a single Rorqual on normal Ore to replace the hull and 85 hours to replace a fully fitted one to what I would call doctrine standard It does not work out like that for a Hulk for example. EDIT 22 hours to replace a Hulk with normal ore
And it gets even more stark when certain nullsec alliances to create content do SRP funded kill events.
Thankfully the Skiff and Procurer enable people to chill now with their tank possibilities, but still it is all relevant to the risk and reward, if I was chilling in hisec I would (and I did) mine in a Skiff and would not care about the reward.
I know the risk of Rorqual mining in that I have helped defend them and I have been on quite a few Rorqual kills too, but the risk/reward balance is not always in sync, such as the period before you could tank a Skiff and Procurer to be difficult to gank and the two and a half years it was left like that after the destroyer DPS buff. I am going over the past, but it helps to get it into perspective.
I was doing missioning in Osmon for an extended period before I returned to nullsec and I noticed the decline in people in that system, it is a good example of how much the active hisec population has reduced.
1-2 hours mining in rorqual you cover the hull?Mining what? Are you really thinking this?
As for the fit and drones think again.
It’s dumb ■■■■ like yours that influences other morons into spamming the forums thinking you make Soooo Much isk rorqual mining
Why so mad, I was told by one of my alliance who Rorqual mines that he made 1 billion in one hour, which I assumed was moon goo, he said 600m another time when mining normal ore, perhaps what I am missing was that he might be using more than one Rorqual, which I did not check. I better go and ask him then.
PS I am not going to flag your response as inappropriate at this point, but next time I will.
Often people will exaggerate their ISK/hour and it sounds like my alliance mate did that, yep he runs four to make that which fits with your figures.
So that is 8 hours for a single Rorqual to cover the hull and 85 hours to do the full fit with drones. I think a Hulk is around 22 hours to replace the hull if 330m is a correct price. Still an interesting comparison.
EDIT: I was told this, if you mine spod or gneiss and your rorq has near perfect skills you’d get about 250/hr, so five hours for the hull and 50 hours for a fully fit one.
I don’t Rorqual mine even though I can walk into one if I want to as I don’t like the idea of being in a something that is stuck there, so cannot check the numbers myself and rely on people giving me the information.
Yea unless you can guarantee safety for it once you count full rorqual t2 rigs any bling for fit it takes alot of time to cover it.
With a super it’s let’s say 350m/hour takes about 80 aswel hull plus fit
But you see how easy it is for people to make a mistake in comparing such things, my error above was taking what he said in face value without actually checking what he did to get that and many people post on that basis.
It is the same as when people do a comparison on all out blizting missions in hisec, when most people don’t do that.
Still the comparison on the amended figures are interesting in terms of what I was pointing out. And by the way I think Rorqual mining is about right and I wish people will stop going on about it being out of kilter. I thought that when I misunderstood my alliance mates figures above, and this just makes it even more evident that there is no issue with Rorqual mining.
I went with a doctrine fit. Well in our prime time it is pretty damn safe for them, in our real prime time we have not lost a single Rorqual except one when we were deployed. of course.
Yeah that I have done, and the thing is being aligned and its warp strength makes it pretty safe if you are on the ball. To me Super ratting is a real ISK maker, but it is something that you have to really concentrate on, and people often do not realise that, because you have to really micro manage the fighters and it can be tiring, it is not just sitting there mining a rock.
Well it is a comparison of different zones, often it comes back to interaction between the different game zones, my point above was that it does not really matter so much as long as the interaction was limited, it got out of kilter in hisec when certain balance decisions were made, such as destroyer DPS and no adjustment to mining ship tank and then certain nullsec alliances did nullsec SRP funded killing sprees.
