The difference seems to lie in the fact that this is an RPG where people can immerse themselves into, believing they are their character. It’s close enough to “having a life” that they can’t stop being around despite not liking it.

Sure. And there are plenty of sensible people here as well. Hundreds start this game every day and hundreds leave it. Less than 1% rant in quitting posts. Pretty average across the board for most games.
Well… except Diablo 3 where you might find 100 quitting threads on a good day.
The point is, unlike what CSM Bombastic writes, EVE is no better and no worse than any other game for what he was whining about.
