CCPlease do something about the 1mil sp spammers

A non solution.

I’ve seen what it’s done to the rookie corporations, and it’s not a positive thing.

Both Aisha and Syzygium suggested filters. That’s an actual solution.

Removing or limiting the reward, that’s an actual solution (though one I doubt CCP would make use of.)

Removing the ability for Alphas to spam the link by way of posting external links, that’s an actual solution. (Though, admittedly, one with limited effectiveness.)

Make spamming bannable, probably a bit extreme, but it is a solution.

Specific spam enabled channels and ISD moderated rookie channels. In combination with the previous suggestion, is a solution.

There were a few other suggestions, but they all involved limiting social interaction. Which, as pointed out above, is bad for the game. So, not really a solution, because it doesn’t tackle the problem.

That would be a smart move and consolidate all the new players into one central chat.

Yeah, I suspect it’s related to some of the npe changes they had in the works. I’m not really sure what the hold up is if that’s the plan though, they may have run into some sort of game breaking bug that prevented their plans.

But even if they did, one would think they could just make a new npc corp and move all the non-militia npc corp players into it. I suppose it’s possible CCP got some negative feedback about forced relocation though. Years ago there was some corp pride associated with some of the npc corporations.

A non problem.

more of the same.

It took three weeks of my time, dozens of posts, forty or fifty screenshots, and an escalation to get this guy banned last time. AND HE’S BACK A WEEK LATER? WTF?

I give up vOv

Next time someone starts a thread wondering why no noobs stick around for more than a day. You can point them to this thread.

Always using new players like mules… Who are these supposed players who leave a game they just started because of some spam in a chat channel? o.O
All the windows can be resized and minimized. Local can be resized so only the player list is visible. Same for corp chat. Most corps have Discord so corp chat is redundant and there is a PM feature…

I think that the reason why some new players don’t stick around is a variety of reasons and it’s because of that variety that we have endless arguments on the subject that never get resolved.

The only reason that I stick around is because I like space adventures, spaceships and huge conflagrations. Hat’s off to CCP for the FX, art :art: and sound :loud_sound:
The only problem for me is Immersion. Not being able to land my ship or take off manually. Not being able to shut warp off between destinations, having to have the browser open on several tabs just to know basic info that should be in the game, can’t work for the pirate factions, can’t walk in the station - yes, I want to visit vendors, each for different types of modules, repair my ship in 3D ( so more repair skills to need… maybe I’m crazy - and finally, CONCORD makes no sense whatsoever in a space game like EvE, and I mean no sense at all.

Of course, I’m no game designer or whatever, I’m not an “expert”, so I take what’s provided and make do.
If I want more immersive gameplay I can jump on a dozen other space games that allow everything described above.
Peace :v:

The quickest way to make this stop…is for CCP to remove the ability for active already made accounts to recieve the link reward.

It is when CCP allowed for retrograde useage of these links that this garbage started.

Revert the process for new accounts only, and this spam crap will stop.

No. No it won’t.

All the old accts that were going to collect this million SP were done within two weeks of the program starting. Since then it has been only new people collecting it. Has the spam eased up?

What max means, is any account that is already created, wont be eligible. So all the people in game couldn’t use it unless they created a new account.

If we’re going to go that route though, I think I would just favor stopping the reward for existing accounts. It’s a bit of a compromise between stopping the reward entirely, and removing the ability for already created accounts to receive the sp.

That way new players can still get their sp, and existing players can still get rewarded for actually inviting players outside of the game.

I jumped on the band wagon when this first started. I did it for a month.

I went from getting 50 to 70 recruits a day in the first week to 5 to 10 in the last week. This tells me that any acct already created claimed their SP and all that was left was the few noobs a day that picked me over the other recruiters that started way too late to actually make some gametime from the program.

And now there’s even more recruiters, who are desperate for a piece of the noob pie and think spamming like a mofo will somehow help their recruitment numbers.

It won’t. Less and less people are coming into the game. And all the “accts already created” claimed their SP long ago. So it doesn’t matter now that it’s too late whether you make them ineligible or not.

How about just getting rid of the promotion. How effective is it in bringing in new players vs the 9th or 10th multibox account? What’s it like for those new players to log in and see this spam in their new player corp chat?
Surely there are better ways to spend our money on recruiting new players - ones that don’t pollute the in-game experience.

Yeah, that is certainly one of the options. As it is right now, it just seems like CCP is giving a ton of free plex to people who barely do anything for it.

I will ask. Who has local chat open in high-sec systems?

Everyone except people not realizing they play a multiplayer game with a strong focus on PvP activities. Those are usually the fools claiming that “nothing can be done” against ganking…

You are wrong about EVE online. It does not have a strong focus on PVP. Besides you can have local open without the chat part

On-topic: CCP may as well introduce actual ads in game it would be less annoying than 1mil sp spam /s

I don’t even have it open in Lowsec.
