Two 17 days old characters with no killboard history who support each other.
No that is typical carebear setup and anti-ganking forum propaganda.
Maybe CCP will offer mining permits for real…
Not so sure on that. My experience taught me that I am always a target, even if I have the upper hand just because I’m an being an old player, I can still lose. Paying attn is key to not losing ships.
Edit; And I absolutely love it when they land on grid only to see my exhaust trail!
Gankers go for easy targets. My kronos is worth multi billions. Golem multi billions and I have yet to get ganked via just traveling or even doing missions.
Every time I say this I get called out for survivorship bias Long as you don’t end up on their lists (because gankers have them) and fly during their off hours (I am USTZ) youll be pretty good.
It’s honestly that simple and yes I do play EVE often maybe not 24/7 but I clock in at least once a day ish.
It’s a simple concept. Look at Zkill. Take note of the ganker groups, the time zones they operate under, and the areas they operate in. Stay out of those areas during that time period.
If the focus of this discussion is now about asset safety instead of improving miner lives, I can think of another asset safety update that would benefit miners and would guarantee an improved demand for a flow of materials:
Delete asset safety
Asset safety causes all sorts of issues. This magical teleportation of items undermines the amount of of tansportation gameplay, it reduces the amount of destruction and thus reduces the demand for ore and minerals. It allows roaming groups to exploit asset safety to teleport items looted from killed miners to safety while in deep hostile space.
The main downside of such a change is obvious: people would need a lot of time to notice the change, and would need time to adjust their risk assessment.
In order to give players this time I suggest that CCP soon announces the deprecation of asset safety in the future and that it takes another year or two before it really is turned off so that even the most unaware and AFK players will have had the chance to notice and adapt.
Miners will really benefit from the added demand for ores as result of this change.
Haulers too will benefit when they see far more and better paying courier contracts as result of the deletion of magical asset teleportation.
Your menton above about magical asset teleportation of items does open up a portal of possibilities and suggestions.
lol. This guy just doesn’t like getting ganked and is crying about it. Fly a better ship. Carry less.
