Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

Before patch: JF cynos go on instantly killed rookie ships.

After patch: JF cynos go on instantly killed t1 industrial ship.

The ■■■■ do you suddenly need a tanked JF cyno for?

It’s not my favorite change ever and I don’t think it’s really going to accomplish much in the way of net benefit but some of the specific complaints are so bizarre.

You misunderstand: it’s not the survivability of the cyno ships once lit, it’s the movement of cyno ships before the chain is set up. Pre-patch, it was a matter of flying a cyno-ceptor into whatever tedious corner of null-sec you needed for your mid-point. Now, it’s way more tedium to fly either your cheapo T1 industrial or cloaky blockade runner into null to set things up for the first jump: the latter ship class is the reason for an extra month of training, since that’s the best shot you have of moving a cyno ship in null without dying to every gate camp.

On top of this, it’s now necessary to constantly re-stock your mids with 20k m3 cyno ships, which for anything beyond 1-2 jumps quickly takes up the entirely of your cargohold just on replacement ships, and adds tedium on top of tedium with no particular gain to anybody.

The correct solution for the “first time” is a cloak, an MWD, a nereus, and maybe a scout.

Using a transport ship for that continues to be absurd from a cost/benefit perspective.

As for restocking, T1 industrials are quite compact if you bring them in as minerals.

Sure, cloaky nereus is potentially fine too: and it’s still way more tedium to fly that nereus into deep null to set up an initial jump. Minerals save cargo? Yup. And add way more tedium to restock cyno ships by building them on-site (if you can find a site). All for no apparent gain.

Not every JF hauler has static routes that can be “restocked”

Really CCP? Please put down the crack pipe… sigh…

If hit a proper gatecamp and/or bubbles, you won’t make it through with a indy ship equipped and flying as such.

Just give us back the first purposeful CCP: Covert cyno options for JF. That way we can go extra cheap and use indy cyno, expensive with covert, or just jump to normal cyno/beacon

I think a solution would have been either to add the new optional cyno type for JFs so those with a supply line can continue to use it, but with covops cynos; OR make the indy cyno available on any ship. That way I would still need to seed the mods (eventually) but I would be able to seed them in an easier to move ship (like a captor) as I can fit them to my corvettes as before.

One of those options is a bit of a pain and can be planned for and set up in advance, the other can’t. So I’d actually prefer option 1.

Seriously, I’m beginning to wonder if we are playing the same game - Regardless of your name.

Because bubbles on gates isn’t a thing, having to run around scouting a 1 million isk ship with a 5 mil fit that IS going to die is such compelling game play, not to mention the time it takes to scout and move a T1 indy 30+ jumps, you know JF pilots don’t have lives.

The only real way ther could be any cost/benefit to a JF pilot would be to allow industrial cyno to be fit to anything other than industrial’s.

So all JF pilots/cyno alts now need to spend more time hauling materials and blueprints, be somewhere that has industry and spend more time doing things that shouldn’t be part of hauling every time they want to use a JF?

Highsec hauling with a webbing alt is very different to using a JF.

Nullsec 2019: “Someone might lose an essentially valueless ship in nullsec, REEEE!”

What a crisis.

There are some pretty unfortunate aspects of this change and you’ve somehow managed to zero in on the most eye-rollingly insignificant non-issue as if it’s really critical because, like I said earlier, what’s really important to you is just having something to whine about. :woman_shrugging:

Oh no, the safest easiest job in the game now has some minor administrative hassles attached to it!

The sky is falling!

You really don’t get it do you - I and many others DON’T WANT TO SPEND MORE TIME PLAYING A GAME THAN WE CHOOSE TO.
Sure there is nothing that can’t be done with the new cynos - It comes down to whether you individually want to put in the extra time it takes.

As for 'valueless". Valueless to who? A cloaky + Mwd T1 hauler is currently around 6 mil + the new cyno and fuel for it - OK losing one of those isn’t too bad - lose 5 or 6 or more - Where is the profit for all the extra time and work put in?

You seriously have no idea about logistics and profit loss

As i said previously - I’d be just as happy to extract and unsub the 5 accounts i use for my JF. I just don’t have the time or energy to put in all the extra time these shite changes bring with them.

Then go back to freighter convoys right?
If jumping is so much hassle go back to the actual old mechanic. Jumping is not original, it was introduced later on.

I know. You want to continue your multiyear, uninterrupted streak of complaining on the forums.

If you’re losing 5 or 6 cloaky haulers setting up your mids, that’s simply ineptitude.

Seriously - Now you are just trying to troll.

You say your account is a hauling alt, ok that may be but you’ve surely NEVER been to nulsec with it or you wouldn’t make such stupid comments.

Sorry I’m done with you - You bring nothing but terrible troll value to an already trolled to death thread.

Yes I’ve spent a lot of time on the forums over the years pointing out what i think are poor decisions from CCP - Citadels, Fozziesov, Rorqual changes - And by fuk, was i wrong?

Sorry I’m not a skirt wearing fanboy.

Okay. That must be it.

Or maybe it’s just not the crushing burden that you’re making it out to be in the need to endlessly complain?

A lot of people point out poor decisions, and many such posts are well reasoned, with a focus on the core-concept. Yours are rarely that.

Yes not being a brown nosed fanboy many of my opinions would not sit well with you.
That’s ok, I really don’t care what you think. As my old sig used to say - before the forums were 3rd partied - My opinions are mine. It’s ok if you don’t like them but don’t bother hating - I don’t care

Here’s a reading hint,
It’s not that your opinions are your own.
It’s that you flail about wildly saying little of substance, seeming not happy unless you have something to rant about against CCP.

Sadly in a way, CCP do give out plenty of ammo to rant via.

It isn’t my fault CCP made so many poor design decisions over the years but “my” game is now suffering for them.

I won’t apologise for speaking my mind and i certainly don’t care that it seems to upset a few brown noses.

Maybe you should stop calling everyone who disagrees with you a brown noser, and people may start taking you more seriously (however that does not mean they will start agreeing with you either).
