Maybe a temporary glitch? Looks like it is working. I know from experience the game runs without chat and other systems available. They sometimes make an announcement about issues, I was not in the game to experience first hand. I did notice a quick blurb earlier about “attempting to connect to chat”, but it was gone in less than a second.

The dailies often open up the first time with no (or only partial) results. Try closing it and opening it again. Use the upper right X to close - just clicking the icon again only minimizes the current window, close and open resets it.
As for the chat messages and the bug report, I’d guess there was a short term disconnect with the various servers. I wish I had a month’s Omega for every time CCP has posted “the chat is now fixed and cloud services are working wonderfully!” , but they seem to have real difficulty with their fancy new technologies.
even without those messages, chat is always broken. messages not getting send, messages arriving two times…oh gooosh @_@
I did try that. Nothing worked till just before downtime.
Everything (including chat) has been lagged to h*ll and back the past week or so.

It could be all that new GPU stuff they are talking about? I see Evolved blog and read how they are testing it with AMD 6800XT and I-7 core machines. I am not all that tech savvy, but I don’t own an I-7 or an AMD whatchacallit. I know my PC boots Windows 10 and displays an Nvidia logo. I think it is an I-3 or an I-5? With the typical gamer out there playing on Windows 10, 16 to 32 GB of RAM, Nvidia 3060, why do they insist on testing the new stuff on new PCs? If I spend my money buying a new PC to play a game, why would I pay out more money to the game? Wouldn’t it be wiser to test the new stuff on a 5 year old computer, so the players won’t spend money on new hardware?
I guess wisdom is lost on the typical game designers.
