I’m having an issue where the covops cloak on my scanning alt is deactivating itself mid warp. Typically when this happens you get an alarm/warning sound and a pop up saying “cloak deactivated due to proximity to XXXX” neither the warning sound or the pop up is happening.
I do still get the warning sounds + notification as normal when i warp to something at zero, get to close to something etc. Just not when the cloak decides to randomly deactivate itself mid warp.
I’m fairly certain this isnt a keyboard/hardware issue, i haven’t had issues with other modules activating/deactivating themselves on the same keybind and i cant seem to find any posts of people having a similar issue. I’m running the linux client through steam, and have had a reinstall of the game a few weeks ago.
Cloak deactivating during warp is usually, in my experience, caused by passing through a planet or moon during the deceleration phase of the warp.
Can’t really opine on the absence of the audio cue, though. You mentioned this was an alt, have you checked your inactive client muting setting? That will suppress audio if the window doesn’t have focus.
Yeah that’s normally what happens, but it will have a pop up saying “cloak deactivated due to proximity to gas planet blah blah” and then play the noise. I cant remember if it has done that recently, or just the behaviour i am having now.
As for the inactive client muting, it’s happening while its the active client, not alt tabbed. I can see the module be deactivated and start its cooldown.
Triglavian systems have anti-cloaking device. I am not sure whethere that is just global effect or if it is related to some destroyable structure, for I have been decloaked by this in Litiura many times.
Mobile observatories in null and low sec can decloak you, and as Honzas says such decloaking structures also exist in Pochven, where I think they’re always active by default and ping frequently.
Have these been decloaking you perhaps?
In which type of space were you when you got decloaked?
