An interesting study. Now the next question. How do you qualify to be able to say anyone is psychopath. What degrees in psychology do you hold. Do you hold a PhD in abnormal psychology or something similar. Was your thesis on gamer psychosis or similar?
What I am trying to get at here. Is how are you qualified to make these statements about a bunch of random people posting on an online games forum.
What you have presented thus far is interesting, at least to me anyways, on abnormal psychology of a certain set of gamers. Nothing in that study makes any sweeping statement that it applies to all gamers or should be applied to all gamers.
Also FYI before I retired/became disabled I read White Papers and peer reviewed articles to relax on breaks at work and winding down at home.
My granddaughter likes to read and write contracts both for business and law.. It’s a family thing lol

I did not throw a snow ball effect to derail this thread. Psychologically speaking.. That will be a unethical on my part.
My question to you is not meant to derail, but to understand. Why you think, believe, or can speak authoritatively by making psychological statements on people that play this game.
I read both studies. While interesting. It still does not mean that I can make any psychological statements on anyone that plays either this game or any other.

Professions with the most psychopaths
If you enjoy reading Id try Robert Hare’s ‘Psychopathy Checklist’. Hare is a UBC, Canada professor who has specialized in psychopathy.
Most psychopaths that are studied are incarcerated and are therefore what is considered “unsuccessful” psychopaths because of having deviant enough behaviours AND being too stupid not to get caught. That there are more successful versions out there is a fact. But to label everyone doing things you dont like or agree with as psychopaths isnt really a smart thing to do. And because it is in a persons own best interest to not be labeled as a psychopath the real rates of psychopathy likely will never be known. Its not like they come in to be tested or make themselves known even being ‘successful’ in life.
Kind of like the rise of the ‘narcissist’. It has become a buzzword and catch all for doing mean things and now everyone knows many and judges many as “classic narcissists” without any real evidence or idea of how to assess such things.
This is like the idea of ‘idiots’ or ‘r*tards’ as well. Both had scientific definitions many decades ago but it became such a common usage, everyone calls anyone derogatorily the slurs that they dont like and then it becomes an offensive term and has lost all actual meaning.
That Eve’s philosophy of “being the villain” would lend to psychopathy and sociopathy traits doesnt denote that we are all… or maybe we all are and like ‘Dexter’ are all preying on other psychopaths?!
