any pilot can shot you with no concord intervention , but if they do you can retaliate , same mechanic as a duel

Yeah, I have a bunch along with a ton of mods in assets, wouldnā€™t cost me anything to fit them up but Iā€™ve been playing for almost 13 years.

A new player, even one with a few years playing probably wonā€™t have the assets, skills or abilities to not lose one.

And we are talking about contesting event sites to get the loot, right?

As clearly mentioned in the OP I think the suspect flag should be applied when all of the following (when both conditions) are true:

  1. If someone is already in the second room of the site when you enter and you are not in that personā€™s fleet.
  2. If you THEN attack the Vulnerable Shipyard or try to loot the can it drops.

I think all Capsuleers should automatically go suspect when they enter any Event site, mainly because the event sites actually belong to the faction thatā€™s occupying them.

See i think the issue is, you seem to think you own the site, when you donā€™t, its literally a free for all and the person doing the most damage wins, just be that person or be willing to steal the loot to secure it

and them fight if needed
keep your safety on yellow

and since you be doing it anyway enter other guys sites for the full experience

The only assets you own are those in NPC stations that are not in contracts or on the market board. All other assets are open to the risk of becoming someone elseā€™s assets.
